It has for a long time. I knew people who did it in the 70s in Los Angeles.

I’m looking into it now, I’ve been getting killed by these Biden purposely inflated gas prices and need the loot.
Then it was using the so-called "peace dividend" to divert spending into social services.
Now that the space program is mostly gone and we're not at war, there is nothing left except turning on human extravagances as the new enemy of the downtrodden.

No thank you. I used to live in the Orlando area, but if you go north on I-75 for 850 miles, you come to the part of Kentucky where I live now. We have enough panhandlers now; I hear some of them make more money than I do.
I meant FARTHER north. There are even crossovers where they can take I95 straight on up to where they belong. :0)
While some may be leeches, a lot of folks were living a decent life. Maybe not making a lot, but had a place to live, a job and paid their bills.
Then came Fauci’s lockdowns. People lost their jobs, had hours cut way back and fell on hard times. Once that happens, the money from the job doesn’t cover what they need, whatever meager savings they had goes away in a hurry, the credit score takes a swandive and it’s next to impossible to get back up.
Believe me, I’ve been there. It took me years to get back on my feet.
Some are leeches. Most aren’t.
Did you see the meat of some of those starved and helpless people? They aren’t suffering; they’re abusing the system and found some foreign rag that wants to hit-piece DeSantis and Florida before the elections in November.
I am simply not buying that, period. This was an intentional hit-piece somewhere conservatives are in control.
Did you run on off to Didney World and look for a foreign hit-piece reporter to look sad and whine to? Did you? No, you didn’t. You worked hard and got back on your feet. These people should try it....
I didn’t say it wasn’t a hit piece. It certainly is. My statement is not all these people are leeches. Nothing more, nothing less.
