Record-high meat prices are having a chilling effect on summer-grilling demand in the US
With costs for ground beef and chicken breasts at all-time highs, consumers have few alternatives to switch to different proteins -- so some may skip them entirely.
The US Memorial Day holiday on Monday is considered the unofficial opening of the outdoor grilling season, and the surging costs are pointing to a disappointing start. Not so you would notice. I grilled two rib eye steaks and six bratwurst yesterday. We will pick up a half of a hog from the butcher in the next week or so. Oh, Marilyn makes excellent pizza when we feel like such for food.
Locally, Brisket was the cheapest I have seen for years.
Bacon is about $19 though. So for $40 I can get a brisket or two pounds of bacon.
Guess what is smoking.

Nope the motto of Soros and Biden and DC ‘elites’ is if you bankrupt a country YOU can buy it back cheap.
I’ve been able to buy 80% chuck chop at HEB for $3/lb for months and months.
Same at several chains in East Tennessee and western North Carolina, including today.
