I read yesterday ukranian fighters were waiving goodbye to russoan soldiers at the border. Amazing what happens over there....just like here...nothing is true ever. Ceptin’ covid and white supremacy of course. I aint no fool.
The Ukies fought more bravely and honorably than the Brits did at Dunkirk, where they abandoned a militarily defensible position with the world’s largest navy supporting them.
FWIW, after D-Day, the German held Dunkirk, without the world’s largest navy and against the world’s two largest navies until after VE Day.
So they surrendered. 😏

You really think Dunkirk was a militarily defensible position? Really? With all due respect, the only reason they got out of Dunkirk is because the Germans stopped the advance, thinking that they could just mop up with the Luftwaffe.
In no way shape or form, is having your back to the sea, in a tiny pocket, defensible. If the navy at your back was such a counterbalance why did they have to abandon the British forces to the north?
Sorry but the British position at Dunkirk was not sustainable, and I would also note, that even if it were, Britian needed its army back home. We must remember, British armies were no where near the scale of european armies. The British army was that of a sea power, and always has been.

There is no semblance of objectivity/neutrality anymore. They do not report, they journal not unlike a blog on the web. They are looking for the scandal, the conflict, because that is what sells. They understand their demographic and rather than reporting verifiable facts fill articles with conjecture and provide opinions all slanted to affirm their target audiences values/interests.
There is no real empirical or scientific basis even for those things where they talk about “following the science:” Covid, Global Warming, Ozone Hole...

They are politically connected/tied, and represent big corporate interests (they are owned by them and/or get their money from them via commercials - that is after all what they are in the business of with TV and radio, selling blocks of time for commercials with the “news” just being the entertainment to get people to view).
The quality of the TV news is so poor, lacking substance or a consistent and coherent argument, entirely politically and ideologically biased that they have basically made themselves irrelevant to anyone except those seeking validation in their feelings (usually a left leaning idea).
Agree that Britian did not want to fight on the continent alone, for their army would stand no chance long term. Plus again Britian was facing a very real chance of a German invasion of their homeland. Once they knew France was done, they had to get out.
As for the Germans in Dunkirk till the end of the war, that is simple. We contained them, which was all that had to be done. As is evident by how the war went after our return. Quite simply, the Germans held it till the end because once they were contained they were neutered. I mean look at the forces we used to hold them there.
Lastly we wanted Antwerp not Dunkirk. Would we have used Dunkirk had the Germans not been there? Almost certainly, but they were there so surrounding and containing was all that was truly needed.
