The marriage is still on, and the children are still around.
Married...With Children appears on its way to receiving an animated revival more than 25 years after it originally went off the air, Deadline reported.
The show, which follows a suburban family always at one another's throats, will see all four members of the Bundy family return.
This includes Ed O’Neill as Al Bundy, Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy, Christina Applegate as Kelly Bundy and David Faustino as Bud Bundy.
Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter wrote the revival and will serve as showrunner.
The outlet reported that Fox, Hulu and Peacock are considered 'logical destinations' for the animated show.
It's unclear where exactly the animated show will pick up and what the characters will be doing in the series.
Married...With Children's finale wasn't a true finale as the show was canceled after its eleventh season.
It originally aired from 1987 to 1997 for 11 seasons and 259 episodes and helped launch the career of Christine Applegate who has gone on to mainstream success in movies like Anchorman and Bad Moms as well as the critically-acclaimed drama-comedy Dead to Me.
There have been a number of attempts at a Married...With Children spin-off series over the years including one that gained serious traction not too long ago.
Faustino reportedly pitched an idea for a spin-off about six years ago that would've followed his character Bud who has to move back into his old house with his ex-wife and his best friend after Al and Peggy win the lottery and move to Las Vegas.
The show was going to be titled Bud and had the blessing of Married...With Children's creator Michael G. Moye.
Because of their schedules, other actors wouldn't have been able to commit to that spin-off, but Deadline reports the

Al was one of the all-time great philosophers.
WHY do it? I can understand Bud he needs a paycheck.

“hot off the grill” is my favorite episode...
Bud owns a couple of highly successful restaurants in LA. I am pretty certain he is fine financially.
I’ve watched it a time or two, the original. It is NOT funny. It has a darkness in it, a sinister overtone.
Thanks for sharing, pearl clutcher
At a cursory level, “Modern Family” could be considered an alternative universe spinoff of “Married With Children”. Al gets divorced from Peggy, somehow becomes wealthy in a pedestrian sales job and marries a trophy wife. Rebellious daughter settles down and starts a family, academically gifted but socially awful son turns out to be gay.
Given how much broadcast television wouldn’t accept in the original series now, I think Modern Family pushes the boundaries enough to make that view satisfying.
I don’t know how an updated take on the original series works for a woke-minded TV network without making Al the constant focus for either hatred or humiliation for the entire series (and Ed O’Neil likely has too much money for that degradation). I know if they ignore the woke folk, it would make money, there’s a craving for content that rejects the modern sensibilities. At least there are still people trying, whatever that means.
Dead to Me is a man hating misandrist show.
I loved that show
Sam died before his time.
plus Al BUndy aka Ed O Neill is a raving lunatic obama leftard who hates Republicans.
Joke post?
Maybe you are the raging lunatic.
You have no clue what the heck you are talking about.
Ah c’mon, you’re just projecting, admit it! It was funny on so many levels. 😁
Not a choice that is going to make me an eager viewer. Family Guy has become nothing but a leftist mouthpiece, IMO.
“hot off the grill” is my favorite episode...
“Al Builds a Bathroom”
Most of the jokes from Seinfeld were stolen from Married with Children.
There is a great scene in that episode where Sam went off script and pinched Peggy’s ass. Classic.
