I don't trust him at all. Left congress mid-term to work for Fox. No call for that as special elections are not cheap. Women will vote for his pretty face and Utah voters are funny to put it politely.
His dad was previously married to guess who? Kitty Dukakis. Her first son(half-brother John Chaffetz Jr.) changed his name to Dukakis and went to work for step-dad Michaels' Presidential campaign(1988). Big brother John is an out-of-work actor who also worked for John Kerry.
Jason Chaffetz might not have to challenge Romney. Mittens will be 77 in '24. He's a career executive who somehow wanted to be only one of 100 legislators. His accomplishment is turning off the conservatives.
Why do I bring this up? Just look at what Pennsylvania primary voters are faced with this Tuesday. Carpet bagger vs. unvetted vs. China lover. No bench development.
2025 Chaffetz becoming a senator. I would only be ok with a Sen. Chaffetz if he was one of 55+ GOP senators. Imagine him in Mancin's position at 50-50. I think of Utah conservatives as much as I think of those in the Pennsylvania primary.
Go figure.
“His dad was previously married to guess who? Kitty Dukakis”
Don’t knock Kitty. I hear she makes a mean rubbing-alcohol martini.
Pierre Delecto isn’t going anywhere until the mormon church leaders say so. Then it will be a battle between the church-anoited successor and whomever actual Utah conservatives support.
Never judge somebody by what their brothers and sisters are
I am a hardcore conservative and I’ve got brothers and sisters that are hardcore liberals.
They stopped talking to me when I pointed out the ridiculousness of their beliefs. Proving it with actual facts. They didn’t stop believing, They just stop talking to me.
No source URL. It’s just me. Gotta get back to my job at the 7-11.
Seems like Chaffetz is usually saying the right things when he is on Fox, but saying and doing are two very different things, and situational pressure are very influential to some people more than other.
Yep!
What you said...
Another Question: Why did Fox hire him? He had a job to do. There weren’t others? Too many blonde females?
I agree with you as far as him quitting in midterm like that. When he showed up as a Fox News contributor, I believe he actually said that it was just too tough in DC and he wanted to get out of the swamp (I am paraphrasing here). So he’s a quitter, and I’ve never really taken any of his commentary seriously as a result.
Same sort of thing happens at my family gatherings. I have several family members who otherwise have relatively high IQs, but turn into froth-at-the-mouth political leftist idiots when politics comes up. I call it “the View” effect. Bunch of women sitting around a table patting each other on the back for spewing propaganda makes viewers feel like there is some sort of social consensus in the world, and they hate it when someone starts throwing facts at them. So they don’t bring it up much anymore.
[[They didn’t stop believing, They just stop talking to me.]]
Typical of liberals. They scream at us and hurl, lie after lie at trump, and other conservatives, but when we point out the facts that prove they are lying, they scream some more and stomp off, refusing to hear anymore.
So,much vicious pent-up anger on the left.
For all that I’d still take him in a heartbeat to get rid of willard.
I had always thought of him as a possible Hatch successor. He’s probably thinking the ‘24 senate nomination is his for the asking. The only possible challenger I see is the black football player in the house. We would then find out if racism is in the Mormon DNA.
The current Atty General of Utah Sean Reyes has already announced he will primary Romney.
He has been Atty General since 2014. He’s Philippines descent. Very strong MAGA guy. Devout LDS.
No idea where this other story has come from. It’s been largely presumed Reyes will primary and Romney will announce retirement before the nomination campaign. It’s not until 2024.
He will still be better than Mittens
*I’d still take him in a heartbeat to get rid of willard* Me too. Still ONE of 55+.
*The current Atty General of Utah Sean Reyes* Forgot about him. That’s WONDERFUL! To hell with Jason. In office since ‘14? He’s been vetted but then so has Jason. I guess we’ll see.
God help us. Another RINO.
That said, he would still be a big improvement over Pierre Delecto…
