Never judge somebody by what their brothers and sisters are
I am a hardcore conservative and I’ve got brothers and sisters that are hardcore liberals.
They stopped talking to me when I pointed out the ridiculousness of their beliefs. Proving it with actual facts. They didn’t stop believing, They just stop talking to me.
Same sort of thing happens at my family gatherings. I have several family members who otherwise have relatively high IQs, but turn into froth-at-the-mouth political leftist idiots when politics comes up. I call it “the View” effect. Bunch of women sitting around a table patting each other on the back for spewing propaganda makes viewers feel like there is some sort of social consensus in the world, and they hate it when someone starts throwing facts at them. So they don’t bring it up much anymore.

Typical of liberals. They scream at us and hurl,lie after lie at trump,and other conservatives, but when we point out the facts that prove they are lying, they scream some more and stomp off, refusing to hear anymore.
So,much vicious pent-up anger on the left.
Leaving Congress in the middle of a term is sketchy. My guess is someone was about to drop dirt on him and he bailed out to avoid embarrassment.
My family split after the 2020 elections - we don’t talk anymore or get together for any occasions including Christmas and Easter.
No matter how bad it gets under Brain Dead Biden my far left relatives will always vote for a Democrat.

Changing someone’s beliefs (world view) is one of the most difficult undertaking there is.
