A Russian Navy ship is 'limping back to port' after catching fire following a strike by Ukraine, according to reports.

Ukrainian forces have damaged a modern Russian navy logistics ship in the Black Sea, setting it on fire, a spokesman for the Odesa regional military administration in southern Ukraine said on Thursday.

Spokesman Serhiy Bratchuk said in an online post that the Vsevolod Bobrov had been struck near Snake Island, the scene of renewed fighting in recent days.

"Thanks to the actions of our sailors, the Vsevolod Bobrov logistics vessel, one of the latest in the Russian fleet, caught fire.

"They say that it is going to Sevastopol. The information needs to be clarified," Bratchuk said, according to Ukra News.

No, it is named after a Soviet athelete:

Vsevolod Mikhailovich Bobrov was a Soviet athlete, who excelled in football (soccer), bandy (ice hockey with a ball) and ice hockey. He is considered one of the best Russians ever in each of those sports.

“The Russians lost a Mi-8 (similar to a Blackhawk) on Snake Island from a drone attack yesterday/last couple of days.”

That was truly a thing of beauty!

What was curious, though, were the two guys who went prone in front of the chopper before the missile strike. Like they were prepared to provide covering fire.

On an island? Makes me wonder if a Ukrainian or two has infiltrated the island.

Again your English Comprehension is absurdly weak.
I mentioned buildings, NOT military targets, which were simply courtesy of US intelligence and guided missiles given to Ukraine by neocons & Brandon WITH BORROWED MONEY FROM CHINA & JAPAN. Has any Ukraine military stepped onto Russian soil?

How many Apartment buildings, power plants, highways have been destroyed in Russia? Since your English comprehension is absurdly weak, that is called infra-structure. Now you may understand.

“Interesting thing, at least to me is this is the third time since 1905 either Russia or the Soviet Union has underestimated a smaller nation and it cost them dearly each time. Japan in 1905. Finland in 1940 and now Ukraine.”

Afghanistan in 1989. Chechnya in 1990s. Poland in 1920s.

The Russians don’t have much fighting spirit when they haven’t been attacked.

“How many Apartment buildings, power plants, highways have been destroyed in Russia?”

None and that’s because the Ukrainians are selectively destroying military targets of strategic value and not just randomly terrorizing civilians like the podonok Soviets who don’t care who they kill.

The Cold War wasn’t free either, but the outcome was widely welcomed.

I think this whole thing is a globalist mess. Putin, Biden, Zelensky. All a mess. I’d remove all of them.

Yeah, how dare the Ukrainians attack MILITARY targets! How dare they defend their own soil! War is about apartment buildings, hospitals, schools and libraries! Screw the battlefield, attack the civilian population!

Indeed! It seems that the Moskva’s CIWS system didn’t engage.

“Indeed! It seems that the Moskva’s CIWS system didn’t engage.”

The Moskva was outfitted with six AK-630 cwiz which work in conjunction with an MR-123 radar as part of the A-213-Vympel-A defense platform. It’s all 1980’s tech.

The whole thing sucks a bunch of energy, the obsolete radar these days would basically be a homing beacon for all manner of attack vectors, and the heat the systems themselves create are known to be detrimental to the systems.

India has several instances of the A-213-Vympel-A platform on their ships and their first major upgrade involved a cooling system to prevent the system from cooking itself. Their second major upgrade was a domestically developed radar that constantly and randomly rotates channels to frustrate anti-radar missiles.

All of this to say my first suspicion here is that these systems on the Moskva were offline as a routine practice and the Soviets simply didn’t expect to be vulnerable so far offshore.

The crew of the Moskva won’t make that mistake again.

In short, the Moskva didn’t have even the most basic upgrades to its defensive suite, and the Russians were slack in an uncertain threat environment. Charlie Foxtrot.

Yes, the Bass Tilt system is, shall we say, less than ideal.
