Firefox updates every 37 minutes it seems.
At one time pretty good but bloated these days.
My advice: Get away from Firefox... As far away as you can. Go to Chrome, or better yet, Brave.
If you are a Trump supporter, you need to get rid of Firefox. The Firefox bull dyke lesbian CEO hates Trump and MAGA.
You need to install the alternative to Firefox, which is the Brave browser.
Sounds like it wasn’t Firefox. I’ve been using them for years, never had such a problem.
Firefox would not let me go on several websites.
I would have had to go into my settings and fiddle around to make it work.
I dumped them like a hot potato
Is your old profile in use?
I gave up on FireFox years ago because of it pulling crap like that.
That sucks. Start here to try to recover bookmarks: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks
I maintain a backup of current bookmarks just for situations like this.
Same here; blew out all my favorites.
All of your bookmarks are still there. Just look a little harder and you’ll find them.
Click settings on the upper right menu. Click on ‘privacy and security’. Scroll down and find the history box. Make sure it is set to ‘remember history’ If it’s not set to remember history then that’s why it’s not showing your personal stuff like the bookmarks.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
i use waterfox. same ‘engine’, but nust not qjite enough firefox to be different.
A couple of things.
1) Can you turn on menus? Move the mouse to the Tabs area, right click, and check ‘Menu Bar’. If you have Bookmarks, there’ll be a menu for them.
2) Right-click on the right side of the address/search text widget and select ‘Bookmarks Toolbar’ | ‘Always Show’.
3) You might look at ‘Pale Moon’ - it’s a Firefox derivative and can use a lot of the regular Firefox extensions. Have used it on Linux and my wife uses it on her Win7 machine. I prefer it - for the most part - to Firefox. But that’s me.
4) Switch to Chromium derivative such as ‘Brave’. Am using that for the most part and tend to get along well with its quirks.
I gave up Firefox ten years ago. I use four different browsers. Chrome and Edge or Brave and CCCleaner has a fairly new one, which is pretty fast. One of the things I use to gauge is frequent updates. None of these browsers bother me with them.
He then founded the superb Brave browser. I've used it for years and it's my favorite browser of all time, and I go back to Mosaic 1994.
Download Brave . Mo betta .
You should using a session manager plugin so you can save all current open tabs in one shot. Very handy when you go down a bunch of rabbit holes while researching. Plus those saves act as groups of bookmarks.
Firefox is the WORST on this. Not sure why I have continued to use it after years of this kind of nonsense. Better the devil you know?
You're right, with the update, all you bookmarks are gone and everything is new to look at.
I continue to get pop ups from Firefox to update but I ignore them............
