Grammy-award winning artist Naomi Judd of The Judds has died at 76.
Judd's daughters announced her death in a statement on Saturday to the Associated Press.
"Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness," the statement said. "We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory."

Very sad, and even sadder that the family can’t bring themselves to acknowledge and state the s-word.
This could have been an opportunity to encourage those on the edge to seek help, very sorry that it is being squandered.

And mental illness is not a disease.
It's a younger crowd there. Hardy just finished a blistering set and I would guess most of the crowd didn't even know who the Judds were.

If someone grows up around someone that has mental issues, they tend to act the same way thinking it’s normal. It’s learned behavior.

Ashley was an excellent actress (don’t care for calling actresses...actors), but she was a whack a do.
Which spoiled my admiration for her performance along with Morgan Freeman in “Along Came a Spider.”

She was probably too smart to take the clot shot.
That is a little misleading because I remember hearing DJ's on the radio when they first started out saying she was a divorced homeless mother with two young children. It may have been intentional to travel where the fame could be found, but that is what they said at the time.

Likely a chemical imbalance depression. I know what that’s like. That’s very difficult to deal with and overcome, and has nothing to do with a person’s wealth.
