A Travis Heights resident caught an interesting looking animal on their ring camera. What do you think it is?

A Travis Heights resident is left questioning what resides in their neighborhood after catching a mysterious animal on their ring camera.

The animal looks similar to a lemur, or some sort of monkey- two species not native to the Central Texas area.

I was going to say squirrel, but except for the ‘flying’ ones, squirrels are diurnal. This looks like a night-time shot.

Could have gotten run out of its nest by a possum or owl. Maybe?

I think the person who said Ringtail is probably right. Tail doesn’t look quite right, but the muzzle seems to be pointy.

Seeing how it is moving with kind of its back hunched up I think you two are right, it’s a ringtail. Texas is in its native range:
