FSIS Asked to Recall Beef Over Failed Antibiotic Tests
Ag Web ^ | 4/8/22

Posted on 04/09/2022 11:49:08 AM PDT by EBH

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) should immediately recall any beef that tested positive for the presence of antibiotics. Farm Action and the American Grassfed Association made the request after a study by Georgetown University reported finding antibiotics in cattle destined to be sold through a USDA-approved no-antibiotics labeling program.

In a statement, the groups say the current system that processes "raised without antibiotics” (RWA) beef lacks credibility. They said a previous investigation from the organization Farm Forward discovered antibiotic-positive meat on Whole Foods Market shelves.

In their statement, the two groups suggest Whole Foods is the retail destination for the beef in the Georgetown study, but Whole Foods said in an email to Drovers that is an incorrect assumption and no retailer is identified by the study.

“We have extensively reviewed the information made available to us and have no reason to believe that the cattle tested in this study ended up in products in our stores," a Whole Foods Market spokesperson wrote. "We take compliance very seriously and never hesitate to act if a supplier has failed to meet our rigorous Quality Standards.”

In a letter to FSIS, Farm Action and American Grassfed Association described the pressing need for immediate action: “FSIS should swiftly request a recall of the meat in question. If Whole Foods refuses to recall its misleadingly-labeled meat, FSIS should use its legal authority to detain and seize it.”

Baby formula shortages, Chicken, Turkey, eggs, wheat, hogs have all been on recall list. This morning Trick’s cereal was hit for Polisorbate IBD making kids sick, the baby formula was an international recall, 2 babies died.

I track med recalls, and catch these too, Higher than normal, As if they mean to create the higher prices and shortages.

While praising Plant based foods

Both Carrageenan this is a seaweed and Polysorbate are in most food, they cause IBD issues. We are now comsuming more box foods, They even hit up Fast Food wrappers for containing chemicals that make you sick.

My 19 month old nephew for about 9 months now was using Enfamil Porsobee formula with Soy..he has a sensitive stomach so he was on the soy formula even though he is no longer an infant..did not have any problems with it til about a month ago, til recently it had a green label then they changed it to a white label but they told us that it contains the same ingredients that nothing changed but the label itself, fine..but he started having diarrhea, we thought it was from him teething, it would come and go, so my sis saw he was better and tried the formula one time again and the diarrhea started again, so now he’s on rice dream, he tested positive for C diff but the doc told her that anyone under 2 tests positive regardless so it means nothing..he is now on a full dose probiotic(She does not want to give him any medication since we have no idea how he would react to it) its a little better but still not where we want him to be, otherwise he is completely fine, no blood in stool, no e coli, salmonella, etc..so honestly not sure what happened..am thinking about sending the formula to a lab to get privately tested to see what the hell might have been in it

We‘ve been buying local beef now for two years. No antibiotics or other supplements. We did grass fed only for most of that time. We‘re now eating some that was finished on corn and dry aged. Yum.

Exactly what I buy. Grassfed beef from ranchers in nearby Oregon, finished on corn the last month of their lives. Not only does it taste better, it makes me happy that the cattle have pleasant lives. My eggs are pasture raised— you should see the yolks—and my milk from pasture-raised cows.

Basically, I like animals better than people. Important to me that they have happy lives.

Look at the ingredient label, you’ll need a magnifer glass. If it has Carrageenan he Has IBD Irritable Bowel Disease not a sensitive stomach. Even Organic foods have it. Does he truly have a sensitive stomach or reacting to Carrageenan. Let it go on it will get worse. Stay away from KETO crap too, Gastro Patients don’t tolerate it.

Diarrhea is 1 of the symptoms, Acid Reflux too. Activa yogurt doesn’t have enough Probiotics to compensate for the Carrageenan in it. Look for the gummy Probiotics. Play with how many he will need. Child ones won’t be strong enough. I’ve use Probiotics for 2 decades no issues with them.

As a Adult I use 40 Billion multi Strain tablets. Normally I say stay away from adult Gummy’s as they are to strong for kids. You may need it, 1 gummy first, see what it does. Put it where he can’t get to it.

Most baby food has it, they thicken food with it. Just because it’s not a chemical doesn’t mean it won’t cause harm. Organic growers have wanted it out of food for some time,

Try eliminating as much dairy as possible. What triggered my research was the cheaper Heritage Farm Chicken had Salt on the label, I eat low sodium, but it had this strange word Carrageenan. I am a GASTRO/Heart patient and had Diarrhea for 3.5 months that turned into a SIBO infection. Small Bowel Intestinal Overgrowth.

THIS SOUNDS LIKE CARRAGEENAN IS GETTING MORE POTENT you can blame it on yeast but I’ll bet it is this toxic seaweed. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2022-03-toxin-producing-yeast-strains-gut-fuel.html THE IBD it causes extends to infants needing Nexium as it is in their formula. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2022-03-toxin-producing-yeast-strains-gut-fuel.html/ Colic could be treated, Stomach inflammation can’t.

My boys had sensitive guts too, it cleared up with dry powered skim milk and baby rice cereal. Youngest couldn’t have red food dyes.

My mail catcher is set to get recalls, Most are for meds, Most are junk not worth posting. It catches even pet food recalls, Do you remember the Ol Rory Walmart dog food recall, it caught 150 brands, for the same reason. I’m picky what I feed my 2 lapdogs, no corn. At 7 and 9 they are active and healthy.

Wish I could say the same.

Sucks to not be Texans. Tom thumb had a full case of black Angus Texas beef from our Nolan Ryan ranch , sirloin, London broil or Chuck roasts for $3.97 lb I just say them while doing a beer run for the master’s. One store in the area every week will do a sub $4 beef special. Usually roasts, sirloin or flank. Briskets are 3.67 packer style today as well.

That is what he used to take in powder I dont see that word Carrageenan anywhere..looked at multiple sites its not listed. See we honestly dont know what happened..he’s always been a constipated baby even going back to when he was very young he could go days without making a BM..about a month ago, he started teething real bad, started getting multiple teeth all at once and a few times he had diarrhea, so my sis took him to the doc and she said its from teething his mouth is very inflamed it will go away and a few days later it did he started back on the formula again(She found one in the house with a green label on it and gave it to him til it ran out) he ate normally all good..then she gave him the formula again, same one this one with the white label only had to give it once and BAM, he had diarrhea and sorry for the TMI but it was a greenish tint/practically black and the digestion just looked terrible so after days and days of that my sis had his stool tested, negative for blood thank God, no e coli, no salmonella, no giardia but positive for C Diff, so she thought maybe there was stool in the formula so we were thinking about paying a private lab here in LA we found to test just for any sign of fecal matter she has not done it yet..as of now she is giving him a full dose of powder Culterelle probiotic, he drinks rice dream, NO more formula, he eats rice, a little steak(He is iron deficient so he needs to start eating foods with iron), pasta, strawberries, raspberries, yogurt..he is a VERY picky kid so its hard to get food into him so we just dont know what happened, went from one extreme to this and we just dont want to give him the medication(The doc prescribed Vandomycin but we did not get it) for the supposed C Diff but the doc said if he does not have it it could make the situation worse so just thinking to leave him alone and eventually let him heal on his own dont know anymore

Probably not, not much mentioned on GI issues.

Hubby had a 1 J/J shot made me mad, it was all fear driven. No worse than a Bird Flu year, and any one with cormidities known and unknown were more than likely to die from those not the virus. Or the treatments. Fauci’s 2 yr old Vexlury was killing Vent patients who had cormidities.

He’s 81, gets crazy ideas, his excuse was my sister might die, I’d need to go to the funeral, 1 she willed body to science, that is a year off, 2 she lives outside of Niagara Falls, NY which was in full lock down, no funerals but virtural.

Of the 55,000 page data dump while people were distracted in feeling sorry for Urkraine, 89 pages of side effects were released. RFK JR, MALONE, and many others reported on them, still tabo to look on google or put on FB.

Still think it’s a food preservative or agent. I may not be an expert, but the GI crap I know too well. Gastropresis, Barrett’s, Hiatial Hernia, GERD. 2 bouts of SIBO. And you pick up a lot of info having them. Probiotics are the only thing that helps. Lots of it, but I’m an adult and can take the big doses. A toddler needs less.

We eat to many convience foods full of preservatives, Samonella is running rampant in our food supply on purpose. Even green fresh leafy veggies have it. https://www.mariespano.com/cdc/salmonella-in-our-food-how-did-this-happen-again/

My 4 yr old granddaughter lives on Fast Food practically, And is a picky eater too, You won’t get her to eat fruit, few veggies. Wants chicken nuggets,

24 states have been hit with Bird Flu, and the FDA lets the amount of bacteria go higher that their set standards.

If you have a Oestopoath or Natrual Path that specialises in vitamins/minierals, I’d start there. Iron https://www.verywellfit.com/foods-high-in-iron-2507744

Add blueberries, Dark Cherries, and cranberries they are high in oxidents.
