A 74-year-old man living in Akron, Ohio, told police he shot a teenager multiple times after he broke into his home last week.
The homeowner, who asked to be identified by his nickname of "Lurch," told FOX 8 Cleveland the home invasion happened around 7:30 in the morning March 29. He said he opened fire when the teen came crashing through his front glass door.
The hurt teen rolled down the steps to the basement, where he allegedly grabbed a shovel.
"I shot him again," Lurch said. He then kept an eye on the intruder until police arrived. "As far as I know, I hit him three times." The suspect is reportedly 16 years old.

With an armed attacker, it's best to just keep firing until he goes down. If he's down but still has a gun in his hand, and is still conscious, keep firing.
I guess the intruder didn't "rang".
When he was young it was OK - he would have automatically been lauded as the hero defending his property, even by the media.
Today, he will be painted as a racist who has waited years for his big chance to kill.

Rule #1. All you should say, is that I was afraid for my life, I think that I am in shock, I want to be checked by a doctor, I will not respond to anymore questions until I have been checked out by medical professionals at a hospital and I have spoken to my attorney.
After that don’t talk to reporters and don’t speak about what happened without an attorney present.......ever!

You should always carry the name of a good self defense lawyer. If you are not sure where to get one then check out your local range. They should be able to give you the name of a couple in your area. You might even meet one there. They like to shoot as well.

Why then is 9mm carried by police forces across the land? I personally know deputies who have put down perps with their 9mm Glock 19s and SIGs. With pistol calibers, it’s not the caliber, it’s the bullet. And modern bullets are far better than the old FMJ or wadcutters. But, can’t convince the 1911-heads of that.
I carry a pistol even AT HOME. I don't have luxury of carrying a 12 gauge everywhere. Good grief.

This is not an intruder. “came crashing through his front glass door” means “home invasion” not “intruder.”
Using “teen” multiple times is meant to promote sympathy and forgiveness for the home invader. That kind of verbal manipulation won’t work with me.
He should have said: “I heard the sound of my front door being smashed. I knew the place was being broken into. It was a home invasion. I feared for my life. I yelled at the man to get out, but he came at me. I repelled him with legal deadly force to protect my life.”
In Memphis they will shoot you out in the public streets just to steal the gun you are carrying.
Looks like one of Obama’s “shovel ready jobs” finally has arrived.
And I must also add that I am a terrible shot with a handgun. I’m more likely to hit the picture on the wall of my mother in law than the intruder to the left. No, for me it’s just point and blast in the general direction. Just the outgassing of a shotgun will make an attacker stop.
Kudos to the reporter. Any other of those fags would have said, "The victim is 16 years old."
