Shooting someone outside your home is not going to hold up well for you or your family. A good point, yes.
In Memphis they will shoot you out in the public streets just to steal the gun you are carrying.

And I must also add that I am a terrible shot with a handgun. I’m more likely to hit the picture on the wall of my mother in law than the intruder to the left. No, for me it’s just point and blast in the general direction. Just the outgassing of a shotgun will make an attacker stop.
