Check your local listing for times.
The Night of the Iguana. Richard Burton. Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr in a steamy drama set south of the border.
The Sandpiper. Vincent Minnelli directs Richard Burton and Liz Taylor. I've never seen it, but I assume it's good.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe? The BEST Burton/Taylor film ever. I've always wondered if it is really possible for someone to really drink as much as they did in one night.
Days of Wine and Roses. If you're still in the mood for booze soaked drama between married couples, then watch this move with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick.
To Kill a Mockingbird. I think it's a little long and loses the message a time or two, but it is of course a classic. Bonus points for that guessing that nobody (at the time) who played Boo Radley.
A Patch of Blue. Meh. Can't really say. Am I the only one who's never been a big Sidney Poitier fan?
The Hustler. Can't get much better than Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason. From 1961.
The Sandpiper - never regarded as a good movie, but Liz is beautiful in it and it is shot on location in Big Sur.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - The entire cast is great (particularly Burton), but it is a depressing story and the reveal about their child is just silly, IMO.
Days of Wine and Roses - great performances, but extremely depressing. Only saw it once, which was enough.
To Kill a Mockingbird - a masterpiece in every way.
A Patch of Blue - Also only saw it once. Shelly Winters steals the movie as the bigoted mother.
The Hustler - saw once or twice. George C Scott was Oscar nominated for it. Most of the movies on your list are too depressing (for me) to watch repeatedly, aside from To Kill a Mockingbird.
I watch TCM on Google TV. I imagine it might be on some of the other streaming internet providers.
It might even be a separate app to buy on Roku. Don’t know.
Typo... “Radley”
I watch Movies! for free.
Liked The Hustler, but also liked very much the follow up The Color of Money.
Mmmmm. Lee Remick.
Also watched two of the greatest car chase sequences on TCM back-to-back - Bullit with Steve McQueen and French Connection with Gene Hackman.
I watched it as well. It was great. Can't believe I had never seen the whole film. I played the songs from it on violin in orchestra in Junior High but had never actually seen the movie.
They’re great car chase movies. No doubt.
But The Blues Brothers ... Hands down, the winner.
YMMV
Robert Duvall. I don’t like any of these movies.
Especially liked Lee Remick’s performance in Jennie: Lady Randolph Churchill.
Charles Travis Postelwaite
You missed "12 O'Clock High" yesterday... Fine movie.
I think TCM is on YoutubeTV.
The Sandpiper. I remember the little kid pointing out his mother(Elizabeth Taylor). The little kids buddy’s eyes popped WAY open.
“In the heat of the night “
One of Pointiers best.
You bucket mouth!
Got the Russian version of War and Peace on DVD! Great movie (actually 4 movies in one)!
Great Movie! Now show WATERLOO, with Rod Steiger as Napoleon and Christopher Plumber as Wellington! Filmed by the same Russian Director!
Sling TV online streaming, $20 per month I think, has TCM on its menu and its a favorite of mine as well.
Bonus points to you for actually looking to see that War and Peace was actually in fact on TCM much earlier today.
All six hours of it. Geez, and I thought the book was overwhelmingly long.
