It's remarkable to me how people don't hear the words coming out of their mouths. MSNBC wanted a sob story from a teacher about how Ron DeSantis' "Parental Rights in Education" bill is adversely affecting them. That's the legislation that critics call the "Don't Say Gay" bill, but people who have read it know it just says teachers can't push sex and gender on kids 3rd grade and under. MSNBC chose Cody Bernaert, who is upset he can't talk about his personal life to his students anymore.
He teaches kindergarten. In other words, five-year-olds.
"My kids do have questions. They wanna know who my partner is and pictures outside of my classroom..."
No, they don't. They're five. You're a teacher.
"We build relationships with our kids. And in order to build relationships you talk about your home life, you talk about what you did on the weekends. That's building community."
That's an excuse for your own vanity when you should be focused on teaching sight words.
Get ready for the best part.
"It scares me to death that I'm not going to be able to have these conversations with my children because they're gonna ask me what I did on the weekend. I don't wanna have to hide that my partner and I went paddleboarding this weekend."
Oh my God, this guy thinks he's Mr. Garrison from "South Park," where the kids want to learn math and science, but Mr. Garrison only wants to talk about how he and Rick got into a fight over the weekend because Garrison's ex Marcus keeps calling. And even with that analogy, the South Park kids are in fourth grade. NOT F'N KINDERGARTEN. While still weird and gross, Florida's "Parental Rights in Education" bill only specifies third grade and younger.
There is far too much ignorance about the Florida bill, and many activists exploiting that ignorance. Mayhaps Bernaert is a victim of that and didn't do his homework. Had he done the assignment, he would realize that everything he said validates why a "Parental Rights in Education" bill is both necessary and popular with parents.
Homosexuals should never be allowed anywhere near children.
This guy is Exhibit “A” of that.
Just my opinion.
Students should know absolutely ZERO about their teachers love lives.
The guy whines that he won’t be able to talk about his gay partner when a kindergartner asks him how his weekend went.
Kindergartners don’t ask teachers how their weekend went.
K-12 students don’t ask teachers how their weekend went.
Only a pedophile groomer would even think like that.
Who in God’s name are they hiring to teach children?
We never knew a damned thing about our teachers or their personal lives. We didn’t even give it a moment’s thought. We sat and listened, learned, and did what we were told.
What kind of narcissistic weirdos think it’s their place to be telling kids about their personal lives? They are intentionally hiring a bunch of freaks. Let some Christian teacher start talking about what Jesus preaches, and tells kids about sin and what they believe.....you’ll see that kind of personal talk stopped in about 30 seconds.
Every classroom should have cameras installed with video monitored and retained. There no reason that this has not happened yet ..
AMEN!!! HOMOSEXUALITY is IMMORAL, UNNATURAL and SICK! LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE, CREEPOS!
WHAT parent would let their kids see that???????
Homosexuals should never be allowed anywhere near children.
4 more years...
desantis for florida governor 2022... ๐
He is exactly the reason that this law was needed. In a normal world/time no one would have thought about teaching kindergarteners about their love life, and no one in their right mind would have allowed a gay man to teach a kindergarten class.
“We build relationships with our kids. And in order to build relationships you talk about your home life, you talk about what you did on the weekends. That’s building community.”
No, a teacher does NOT share their home life and sexual deviancy with students.
What an incredibly twisted sexual deviant this guy is. He just admitted “building community” is the newest LBQT code word for “grooming”.
Lord Almighty, please forgive me, because I am trying so very hard not to despise queers, but they just keep giving me reasons to continue to hate them.
I NEVER heard anything about any of my teachers’ outside lives.
PERIOD.
This is all about normalizing homosexuality.
Source: was a flight attendant and heard more than one gay flight attendant excited about a boy’s upcoming 18th birthday.
Theyโre not YOUR kids, you sick freak.

I am a teacher in Florida, and I TOTALLY support this. I know how I behave in class. But the little monsters will finally be held accountable for their behavior. I have seen all manner of behavior in a classroom, and the minute you document it, the kids and their parents are screaming, “My kid would never do that!”
What kindergartener asks a teacher, “How was your weekend?” Give me a break.
In a kid’s mind, teachers don’t have lives outside of the classroom. When I was in elementary school, it was always weird to see my teachers outside of school - you know, like at the grocery store. “Wow. Mrs. Smith buys groceries??”
Cameras in class, that is.
And yeah — we have some doozie teachers as well. The pervs need to be weeded out.
