SFGATE politics editor Eric Ting Did His Own Research and is Just Asking Questions
I don't believe for a minute that Will Smith's "slap" of Chris Rock at the Academy Awards on Sunday night was real. No way. No how. No evidence to the contrary — no matter how compelling — can persuade me to abandon my world view that "elites lie, my own research is always better."
The Academy — a cabal of Hollywood scum with a penchant for drinking the blood of children — is clearly seeking to improve the Oscars broadcast's sagging ratings and disappointing crowd size. They tried to make the show move faster by not televising certain awards. They included categories for top "fan-favorite movies" and "cheer moments" in an attempt to appease Real Americans (TM) who prefer superhero movies and are fed up with the virtue signaling in indie movies.
And because Tom Hanks has finally been jailed for his crimes, they needed something to distract us from their degeneracy. Enter the "slap heard around the world," an event I am about to expose as the biggest hoax perpetrated by our elites since they brainwashed millions of Americans into believing the moon landing was real.
Let's start with the joke that prompted the "slap." Smith can clearly be seen laughing at Rock remarking that he will soon be seeing Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, in a "G.I. Jane" sequel on account of her bald head.
What's that you say? Pinkett Smith is clearly not laughing? And it's possible that she said something to her husband, who then felt compelled to defend his wife's honor? And that he'd be particularly compelled after feeling shame for laughing at a joke at her expense?

Yeechus Crikes...
Some find a conspiracy in literally anything.
Tom Hanks has been jailed for c rimes? What?
“The loud “bop” at the moment of contact sounded more like a sound effect, not the result of a slap.”
That was the sound of Chris Rock’s microphone being struck (probably pinned to his jacket lapel).
No, thats a very different thing. That isnt “slap fighting” that you would do with your friends but I do enjoy watching it.
Wouldn't be the first time a black actor perpetrated a hoax now would it?
In fact, watching it again the video doesnt show what you claim. Bending the fingers backward during the slap would cause injury to the face but if you catch the video at round 2 seconds as the hand comes off of Chris’s face then you will see that its cupped. The flattening backward bending doesnt occur until afterwards.
This is SFGate...
They are mocking you for thinking it was fake.
You are being trolled.

😎👍
It was real. Will Smith used a movie slap as not to really destroy him. Chris Rock’s reaction after was real and flustered. It happened. Not EVERYTHING IS A CONSPIRACY. It was horrible
His batch shit crazy wife shot him the “look” and he went right into Pussy Whipped mode. He had to show he was a “man.” You know why he got off? BLACK PRIVILEGE.
You are so very sure about something you have no idea about. So you are saying that Will Smith would risk his reputation, the year he is slated to win an Academy Award, the first of his career, so that the Academy’s ratings will be better? You know he wrote a long apology post, right?
OMG PEOPLE!!!
THIS IS CALLED SATIRE!!!
PEOPLE REALLY ARE DUMB!!!
Nobody knows for sure, but we sure have opinions. I agree with Steve - that apology was, IMHO (<<< note that) written before the fake slap.
But I think that a lot of people make a lot of points why it is fake. This is hardly Qanon.
And because Tom Hanks has finally been jailed for his crimes
What? That skunk is walking around free as a bird. So’s Whoop-ass-ie...
Rock kept his arms behind his back. No backing up, flinching or ducking. No extending of his right to shake hands.
This act cheapened acting and admiration for and of movies. Let alone these two.
