In a truly shocking moment, Will Smith just smacked Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at The Oscars.
Chris was up on stage Sunday presenting for Best Documentary, but before he started naming the nominees ... he was firing off zingers to the crowd, and eventually landed on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Chris made a comment about Jada's shaved head ... saying he couldn't wait to see 'G.I. Jane 2' -- which got some groans from the crowd, to which he just sorta shrugged off.
Chris didn't think he'd crossed a line, but Will clearly did ... because he stormed the stage and literally socked the dude in the face. A stunned Rock exclaimed, "Wow. Will Smith just smacked the #### outta me."
The American broadcast on ABC muted, and even froze, but in other countries it continued ... and Will shouted "Keep my wife's name out your #### mouth" twice to Chris.
Chris eventually gained his composure again and carried on with handing out the Oscar, but the room was left tense with a sense of unease.

That sound though, sounds like a sold hit to me. And Rock was pretty dazzled after.
I just don’t think it was faked. Maybe something taken out of hand that was planned, but I doubt even that.
Kudos to Chris Rock for handling everything so well.
My TV doesn’t pick up anything, so I couldn’t watch the show if I wanted to. But, some clips online show Smith crying and being consoled.
Now, I just read that Smith won Best Actor (?) and apologized to everyone except Rock? And Rock has declined to press charges:

Rock should’ve pressed charges, imho.
My point is..Smith was the front runner to win tonight & the producers were ok with Rock taking a dig at his wife minutes before he won best actor?
Then all the crying, protecting family speech..
It’s always hard to tell, but I don’t think these big award ceremonies’ results are known before. It’s possible it’s all fixed, but the La La Land vs Moonlight one and the firing of the guy that screwed it up live is somewhat proof that it’s ‘real’.
I don’t this this Smith/Rock thing was planned. Just a gut reaction.
hep they dub in the sound- I’ve gone through movies frame by frame- and you can clearly see how they do it- they make it sound real too- rock wasn’t nearly as rocked as he should have been after getting smacked like that if it were real- I think they are both laughing all the way to the bank- i seriously doubt will is gonna risk assault charges with so many witnesses around- -

Will Smith has the most privileged, annoying family.. the whole lot of them.
It was a joke. You take it in good sport or slap him because it is not even a funny joke!
i don’t think he can decline to press charges- these days if it is witnessed- cops have to arrest I think-
Years ago we were watching the show where they did ice mining for gold- and the folks were i n a bar, and a supposed fight broke out- i watched it and saw one of the fellas slam a glass into the face (supposedly) of another fella- heard the ‘glass break’ but saw that the glass didnt’ actually break- so i rewound it- went frame by frame- and sure enough the glass did Not hit his face, nor did it break, but they dubbed in the sound of glass breaking, and the fella reeled backwards as though mike tyson had hit him- The frame by frame video clearly showed he didn’t hit the fellas face-
also- the fella that supposedly broke the glass was never arrested- despite tons of witnesses to the supposed fight- Several ‘punches’ were thrown, and not one of them connected- yet you heard all kinds of ‘punches landing’

Yeah, there are two ways to look at that joke - an insult or a compliment. She has not lost all her hair. She shaved it down because she was losing it in spots. She could’ve taken the joke as if she looked right for the role with her newly chosen haircut.
I doubt Smith planned to make himself look foolish on the night he was up for an Oscar. (Mind you, I didn’t know any of this stuff until this video started circulating. So, this story has me looking up information I never cared to know before.)

Used to be Jada Pinkett.... then Jada Pinkett-Smith. She was in multiple TV series and movies (Gotham is one).....I always liked her in the movie “Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight” but she was very much younger and smaller stature then.
Snith is clearly mental. I don’t know if in the heat of the moment you could slap vs closed fist on purpose in an offense attack like that. Even if staged, it’s going to be insanely bad for the oscars and smith.
That's what I always believed, too. But, there's a news story quoting the LAPD as stating Chris Rock declined to press charges.
We can't trust anything we see on TV or video. There's reason to be skeptical. The reality shows aren't real, either.
But, watching the way Smith behaved and Chris reacted, I don't think it was planned.
