Gov. Holcomb signs permitless carry into law, vetos transgender athletes ban

In related news, Holcomb also vetoed House Bill 1041 on Monday which would have banned transgender female high school athletes from playing on the girls’ teams. The bill had previously faced criticism despite passing through both the Indiana House and Senate.

“It’s encouraging to see Governor Eric Holcomb tell his party that their culture wars have crossed the line. Signing House Bill 1041 into law would have put the lives of our children in jeopardy. However, this unnecessary debate has set a tone with kids that being transgender means something is wrong with them. It must be said that nothing is wrong and being transgender is exactly how God created you and is exactly who you are born to be. Indiana Democrats value and will advocate for the state’s transgender community, because they have a place in our state and future just as everyone else.”

MIKE SCHMUHL, CHAIRMAN OF THE INDIANA DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Rarely does anyone want a girl. Let’s be real. We know our place, and that includes with many of the women.

“Science” is real to these commie bastards…except the OBVIOUS settled biology that there are only 2 sexes and they stay as they are.

He’s a damn liar, no kids lives are put in jeopardy by a return to common sense traditional Biblical norms. We got along just fine before all this nonsense began.

If some kids feelings are hurt or they need counselling, give it to them, but stop feeding into their delusions and enabling self-harm.

Only because the legislature had enough votes to override the veto. He’d been trying to kill the bill in congress and almost succeeded when he had an ally use a parliamentarian maneuver to get the bill kicked. So the state congress gutted another bill and replaced it with the gun legislation and passed it again.

(That’s a fuzzy summary from memory and may not be 100% accurate - but close enough for government work)

Let me guess: the Chamber of Commerce told him to veto it.

Eric the Idiot is running for Senate in 2024 and thinks he will get a high percentage of Democrat votes again. So the RINO plays nice and sells out his party.

Indiana becomes the 3rd state to adopt Constitutional Carry this year. Nebraska and Georgia are on deck.

This is a bit surprising coming from Indiana. It looks like a nice place to raise a family, guess that’s why I always equated it with conservatism and the GOP. Indiana is more GOP than a lot of southern states...guess he is a RINO.

Maybe Holcombe should rethink summoning God to help abuse children.

“In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them....”

There’s been a long term fight here between actual conservative people in the GOP and the moderate fiscal wing of the GOP (some RINOs - some just don’t care about the social issues).

Pence paraded himself as a conservative but when it was time to throw down would ALWAYS capitulate and play Democrat. (and continues to do so today!)

We had a very conservative, black, attorney general here who was doing some good work but Holcomb saw to it that he got kicked out due to a trumped up sexual assault accusation at a government party (wasn’t even ‘real’ sexual assault, he was alleged to have made sexist remarks and tried to grabass a few woman while drunk)

The battle is always ongoing within the party here and, as I said, Holcomb did his best to try to stop the gun permit bill but the other conservative members of the congress overruled him.

Indiana’s a great place to raise a family - but it suffers the same problem as other red states - it has blue cities and college towns.

That was not the case with two transgenders that I went to high school with. One of them died a couple of years ago. That was the first I knew that he was trans.
