This is a bit surprising coming from Indiana. It looks like a nice place to raise a family, guess that’s why I always equated it with conservatism and the GOP. Indiana is more GOP than a lot of southern states...guess he is a RINO.
There’s been a long term fight here between actual conservative people in the GOP and the moderate fiscal wing of the GOP (some RINOs - some just don’t care about the social issues).
Pence paraded himself as a conservative but when it was time to throw down would ALWAYS capitulate and play Democrat. (and continues to do so today!)
We had a very conservative, black, attorney general here who was doing some good work but Holcomb saw to it that he got kicked out due to a trumped up sexual assault accusation at a government party (wasn’t even ‘real’ sexual assault, he was alleged to have made sexist remarks and tried to grabass a few woman while drunk)
The battle is always ongoing within the party here and, as I said, Holcomb did his best to try to stop the gun permit bill but the other conservative members of the congress overruled him.
Indiana’s a great place to raise a family - but it suffers the same problem as other red states - it has blue cities and college towns.
