A Georgia high school coach has been suspended after he defended himself while restraining an 'aggressive' female student armed with a loaded gun after she threw a stapler at his head.

'I don't feel like I did anything wrong,' Tri-Cities High School coach Kenneth Miller said, according to News 19.

Footage of the incident shows the student, who has not been named, shows them being confronted by another teacher before they aggressively knock a stapler out of the teacher's hand.

Miller, who is nearly hit in the head with the stapler as he confronted the student with police, was initially unaware she had a firearm at that time.

'I only adhered to what Fulton County School Board Policy says you’re allowed to do.'

Body camera footage showed the student becoming aggressive hitting Miller with a stapler as they were speaking with her.

'During that process, we located guns. We saved lives,' Miller told Fox 5.

In police body camera footage of the incident, Miller could be seen grabbing the girl and restraining her until officers stepped in and took her into custody.

I think nowadays, you are not allowed to touch a child for any reason, otherwise be charged with assault and battery yourself. The circumstances don’t seem to matter anymore. The rule is, zero tolerance of touching a child.

That probably adds to discipline problems, because teachers and other school workers aren’t allowed to physically restrain a student from doing something which can harm others. They have to hope and pray that these kids will respond to verbal commands instead.

After stuggling with the headline I figured out:

1. The student had a pistol.

2. The student tried to hit the teacher in the head with a metal stapler.

3. The teacher showed amazing restraint. I’d have been the student to the point she’d be maimed for life.

After watching the video and watching the student attack, I’m convinced Darwin was correct and we’ve found the missing link. Someone shot it and stuff it and put it in the Smithsonian.

Different world today.
At my high school in the 70s, a boy punched a coach in the face during football practice. The coach, a former military man, threw a punch in defense and knocked the kid flat. The kid was kicked off the team, a decision fully supported by the school administration as well as the kid’s parents. Local police didn’t get involved because it was considered a school disciplinary matter.
Today, the coach would be fired and brought up on charges, the parent(s) would be filing a lawsuit, and the kid would be elevated to heroic victim status.

Coach should have knocked the perp out. He can tell the judge, "Who am I to misgender anybody? I wasn't going to ask their pronouns or how they identified. I treat any and all criminal attackers equally."

That's what I've been hearing, too, from teachers over the past two or more decades.

This man is a hero. Not only did he save everyone in that room, but also he might've saved the whole school.

This is an amazingly poorly written piece, even for 2022.

What the district says happened, is that their administrative staff and a school resource officer were "handling" the situation, and this coach, unbidden, decided to intervene.

'The district administration does not support Mr. Miller's actions relating to this event and believes his conduct failed to meet the professional expectations it has for employees. Mr. Miller inappropriately intervened in a student matter being handled by school administrators and law enforcement,' the school district said in a statement.

It would appear that the person who "wrote" this piece was taking dictation from the coach's lawyer, and watched a press conference over the internet before typing up this insane botch and posting it on the Mail's website.

No way to tell what actually happened from this !

Public school officials are crazy. The message is that you cannot restrain and obviously mentally ill girl with a gun. Totally nuts.

Back in the day, I was a teacher at an institution for “persons in need of supervision” in NY. I body slammed a rather large girl who was physically assaulting a female teacher. It’s an effective way to stop an attack.

The teacher did absolutely nothing wrong, it’s insane that he would be punished for this. The girl was obviously extremely emotionally disturbed, and considering she possessed a loaded gun, they were lucky things didn’t turn out much worse. Who would even want to be a teacher after seeing something like this?

“Extremism” in smacking down an armed feral animal is no vice. Unless you’re a pansy who works as a school administrator.

Oh... and this is another reason you should be involved with your local school board.

There are good public school employees out there. They need to be protected.

(That hurt to type)

When I was in Junior High there was a male teacher who would slam boys against the wall and other things when they were out of line. Some for petty things, some for major things.

I don’t know if this is true or not but was told one of the parents tried to sue him but could not and that kids parent was a preacher and was really upset.

That teacher will also tell kids he was “God’s gift to women” to which I said “take me to the exchange counter”

I heard that later he tried to teach at WV State College and did not do so well. He got angry during class and shouted as the students and became agressive. The students reported this and he was out of there. That shit may fly in public school but not in college.

Sounds EXACTLY like teaching in NYC in the last several years. There is no discipline allowed. The student is always right. If you touch a student, even to defend an assault on your person, you would probably be brought up on charges and face a hearing before a kangaroo court ready to terminate you. So teachers must walk around on eggs to “cultivate” the goodwill of students. Of course, to do that, they very likely have to assign no homework, pass everyone whether you attend class or not, and allow the students to fool around with their cell phones all period, every day. No point in coming to class, as virtually no learning is going on. The students understand the teachers are pressured to pass as many as possible, no matter what. They understand they can do just about anything and it will be considered the teacher’s fault. They will produce half a dozen little liars just like themselves to back up their fabricated accusations that strict teachers “said something inappropriate” (like they even know what that means!) or “touched them”. It’s OK for them to assault teachers, knock them to the ground, etc., but G-d forbid the teacher attempts to defend themselves — then they would be brought up on charges, suspended, or even terminated. Why anyone would want to be a teacher in schools headed by woketards (akin to being an involuntary passenger in a speeding car driven by a 3 year old) is beyond me. And these indoctrination centers are spewing thousands of completely illiterate, ignorant, lefty-indoctrinated refuse into our cities every year. Good for nothing but opening their mouths to parrot the garbage they’ve been drilled in and open their hands to assault others or steal to get the things they want, as they are virtually unemployable at honest work.
