Three Reasons Why Trump Shouldn’t Run for President in 2024

We need a strong and measured president to lead America in these precarious times. One who doesn’t bandy loose threats of annihilation or petty insults against foreign leaders on social media. One who doesn’t necessarily embrace his role as being the most polarizing figure in American politics. One who passionately rebukes the media and demolishes their lies, but remains grounded in logic, reason, and facts.

We need a leader who can’t be tied to leading America into COVID lockdowns or, right or wrong, the mythological January 6 “insurrection.” And most importantly, we need a leader that doesn’t come with the physical and mental impairments that come with 78 years of life on Earth, as Trump will be carrying in 2024.

The frontrunner for that role, it seems clear, should be Ron DeSantis. And while Trump was the right man for the presidency in his time, I hope that he will recognize that his time for that role has passed, and he will pass the torch to his natural successor.

I thought that is what he was going to do last time. Ha Ha.

What many people don’t realize is that the President does not, and can not, change the embedded political class. The ONLY way that stuff changes is with the will of the people. The people need to be led to the point where they are engaged.

Trump was great at motivating his core—but he did so in such a clumsy, ham-fisted way that the “will of the people” manifested in screams to tear everything down. No politician is going to change a thing that would get them toss out on their ass.

Reagan did it with his ability to communicate complex issues in simple, easy to understand terms. Calling people names is not that.

I know people here do not want to hear it, but our President needs to lead from right of center. They NEED the disengaged, independent voters to move along with them. Trump alienated those “casual” people to take sides—and as soon as you lose them, you lose elections and power.

he needs to fire everyone in D.C.

Now that he has announced his candidacy, he needs to open a NATIONAL HELP WANTED page on his new web sit. Then start listing the jobs he plans to replace that are not elective; starting with the agency that recommends placements in the government to the President. List the job; pay; and whether anyone has volunteered yet.

When participants of the DS see their names on the future chopping block, they may reconsider glow bull warming as a sanctuary.

After you simps rolled over in submission displays of obedience to the feeble dementia resident, there is utterly no credibility to your argument on Trump’s age.

Thanks.

Of course, if Trump renounced the GOP in January-February 2017, there was a risk of removal or assassination.

But the time frame to replace the existing bipartisan regime was short then and is shorter now. I called D +40 in the 2018 midterm in AUGUST 2018, and what people called me here was amazing - but of course I was right.

The GOP is dead in all but name. The only reason they do as well as they do is that the Democrats are worse. Their “ideas”, to the extent that they have any, are hated by large majorities. And they are chronic and habitual liars to their “base”.

The Trump election offered a one-stop shopping opportunity to dissolve the GOP-Democrat coalition that is ruining us. It failed.

To quote Yoda: “Now, matters are worse”.

Trump is a builder and businessman. I’m not really sure how interested he is in the nuts and bolts of running government. Or foreign policy for that matter.

No argument from me.

But are they hurting enough to overcome the media sh!t-storm that would be the election process with him coming back.

I voted for the guy 4 times (2 primaries and 2 generals.) I loved his policies. I simply don’t think he is electable.

In other words, let the dems and media lie us into makinf decisions, rather than actually weighing things for ourselves.

I suspect that the author ws and is a nevertrumper.

Donald Trump supported the national shutdown to flatten the curve. Then he shut everything down until Easter of 2020, opening the door to a level of tyranny that has never before been seen in America. Trump had supported the lockdowns, then the masks, then the vaccines, and then the boosters.

How disingenuous. The truth is, that no one knew how deadly this virus actually was at the beginning of what we now know was a plandemic, not a pandemic. In addition he was getting a lot of push back from Fauci & cohorts. No one wants to be the cause of significant counts of death, but he was continually pushing to reopen all businesses & schools. He also fast-tracked vaccines, of which are dangerous to be sure, but again Fauci & his cohorts were responsible for allowing Emergency Use Authorization, because they were all heavily invested in these stocks.

I would much rather DeSantis stay as governor of Florida, as that state is far too important to turn that state over to anyone, because even if it gets turned over to another Republican, there is a high probability that Republican would be no where as close to being as strong as DeSantis has shown himself to be. He already is the heir apparent successor to Trump to lead the party when Trump steps down, but not out of politics.

In my opinion, the author, William Sullivan, is what has been the destruction of this party, weak sisters like him trying to lead the party.

You seriously think you can amend the Constitution to get Trump a third term?

Conservatives would get a lot more done if they were realistic about what's actually possible.

If you are the night watchman and you let the thieves in, you can’t really say, “It was the thieves? What could I do?”

Ha, ha... it has taken years for this to be exposed. They hid their activities. Durham is just scratching the surface, but most will go unpunished and collect fat government pensions. It is hard to fight what you can’t see.

You don’t know what the Deep State is (the Deep has meaning, it is throughout the whole government). You have no idea how deep the corruption runs. And don’t forget almost all of this had Establishment Republican support.

The only reason the demented nut job that was selected President has not been attacked is that the Deep State is protecting him.

What mushroom party led to this drivel?

“we’ve got the bench”. Seriously? The Republicans have had the bench plenty of times and guess what they just sit on it. Do you really believe the GOP majority would impeach and remove Biden while the Media flayed them alive 24/7? Half of them vote with the democrats on a regular basis. Get real! Snap out of it. They didn’t even fight a totally rigged election. Half of them say the election wasn’t rigged. WTFU!

Ron DeSantis. Donald Trump the greatest fighter ever could not overcome the deep state on his own. It will eat Ron DeSantis for breakfast. Wise up!

Here’s the more likely scenario. If you think things are bad now hold onto your hat because soon they are going to get really, seriously bad. And its going to become apparent through massive evidence that the election was stolen. Even then the legislature, DOJ and courts will not step up to remove the foreign controlled belligerent force that sits in DC.

At some point the average American will be so freaked out that they will not squawk and millions will be relieved to see the military step in and take charge. I personally would guess this happens before the midterms because I think the military wants to count the vote. I know I want them to. Eventually Trump will be reinstated. I could envision a scenario where Trump takes office in Jan 2023, serves Joe’s last two years then runs in 2024 for one last term.

I could see DeSantis maybe in 2028 but he’s not the guy to finish off the deep state and bring in the reset. This is Trump’s mission.

His rough edges were necessary in dealing with the left.

Indeed it’s how he got more things done than the democrats have done in the history of their party.
Being from New York he knew how to handle career criminals has great understanding of how things need to work and how to make it happen.

We don’t need Billy Graham as president with but we need somebody who genuinely has wisdom that comes from a fear of God and is able to compassionately convey that wisdom to an ignorant public. Right now Trump is not that man.

Like Mike Pence? LOL.

Seriously ... at times like this I like to use an allegory from my first hockey team in a men's amateur league.

We had some excellent players, some good players, and a few who were mediocre at best. We played well and finished every season with a good record, but always came up short in the playoffs.

One guy on the team had a friend who had played collegiate hockey years earlier and wanted to get back into the game. He brought him along for a couple of practices, and I decided I would have chewed my arm off to get him on our team. He was a bit rusty, but it was obvious to me that he knew how to play the game. More importantly, he brought a serious edge and a lot of aggression to the ice.

If I had to describe this guy in one word? VIOLENT.

He wasn't a dirty player, and didn't break any rules. But it seemed that every little thing he did on the ice was VIOLENT. He skated hard, shot the puck hard, passed the puck harder than most guys in the league could shoot it on their best day, and would never, ever be physically intimidated even by much bigger players. If you were not on his team, he was a complete @sshole.

Some guys on the team begged the captain not to let him play. They didn't like him. They couldn't stand being around him. I heard later that the team captain had to keep a bit of cash in reserve in case this guy ever needed to be bailed out of jail. LOL.

They were losers, and they couldn't stand being in the presence of someone who had all of the qualities they didn't have ... the characteristics that kept them from WINNING.

He was a honey badger of a hockey player, and I still love the guy even though I haven't seen or heard of him in 20+ years.

The captain reluctantly let him play on the team, and we became league champions in his first season.

By 2016 I realized I had been playing hockey with Donald Trump.
