Three Reasons Why Trump Shouldn’t Run for President in 2024

We need a strong and measured president to lead America in these precarious times. One who doesn’t bandy loose threats of annihilation or petty insults against foreign leaders on social media. One who doesn’t necessarily embrace his role as being the most polarizing figure in American politics. One who passionately rebukes the media and demolishes their lies, but remains grounded in logic, reason, and facts.

We need a leader who can’t be tied to leading America into COVID lockdowns or, right or wrong, the mythological January 6 “insurrection.” And most importantly, we need a leader that doesn’t come with the physical and mental impairments that come with 78 years of life on Earth, as Trump will be carrying in 2024.

The frontrunner for that role, it seems clear, should be Ron DeSantis. And while Trump was the right man for the presidency in his time, I hope that he will recognize that his time for that role has passed, and he will pass the torch to his natural successor.

This may not be the place to bring this up but we need to have this conversation. Trump accomplished the most in his 4 years. His rough edges were necessary in dealing with the left. He didn't get people killed(Afghanistan) but he will not be given his due because people concentrate on the insults which may have run their shelf life. We've got the bench. 2 election cycles could do it. 2024 should be his second term by proxy. He'll still be around. House speaker in 2025 or move back to NY and head the UN. The world needs his leadership.

Trump is my President. What he went through and what he did for this country makes him the greatest President in probably 100 years.

DeSantis needs to wait his turn. DeSantis for VP, then 8 years of DeSantis after Trump’s 3rd term....

Sure.. the best President we’ve had since Reagan (possibly EVER) should not be elected.

Smart.

Reason number one:

1) He would win

Why do we need two more?

Voters will decide. Check out the CPAC straw poll; Trump won by a huge margin.

2022 and 2024 will be our own “Orange Revolution”.

DJT will be 78. Governors make better presidents and like DJT DeSantis takes no excrement. His record in Florida is more accomplished than Trump’s up and down business dealings. The US needed an a$$hole to lead us and Trump was not afraid to deliver for those 4 years.

At age 78 he only has to fall down once like Gerald Ford and all bets are off.

REASON 4: Biden only needs four more years to finish the job of totally destroying the country.

Agree.

Trump will win and he needs to fire everyone in D.C.

Right there you lost. The next president will be seen as compassionate. We already have such a candidate. If you disagree then you are in a minority, and your candidate will lose.

One who doesn’t bandy loose threats of annihilation or petty insults against foreign leaders on social media.
WHY NOT?

One who doesn’t necessarily embrace his role as being the most polarizing figure in American politics.
THE MEDIA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT- NOT TRUMP

One who passionately rebukes the media and demolishes their lies, but remains grounded in logic, reason, and facts.
WHEN WASN’T TRUMP FACTUAL?

We need a leader who can’t be tied to leading America into COVID lockdowns or, right or wrong, the mythological January 6 “insurrection.”
I AM SURE THE MEDIA WILL PLAY NICE WITH SOMEONE ELSE

And most importantly, we need a leader that doesn’t come with the physical and mental impairments that come with 78 years of life on Earth, as Trump will be carrying in 2024.
DOESN’T SHOW ANY SIGNS OF ISSUES. HIS MOM IS (WAS??) IN HER 90’s

ALL OF THESE ARE STUPID REASONS.
WE PLAYED ALONG NICELY FOR 40 YEARS- WHAT DID THAT GET US?

DeSantis would make a great VP. He would be the good cop, with Trump being the bad cop.

Trump represents a movement. He resurrected and expanded the GOP, a dying party. Only Trump can keep the movement alive in 2024. He won in 2016 and 2020 and can win again in 2024. The real battle is between the GOPe and the Trump movement. Trump must prevail. Otherwise we have the Uniparty in charge forever.

The incredible efforts being undertaken to take down Trump have been ongoing since 2016. They are now on steroids. I view you as part of that effort. You and your fellow travelers must be defeated.

Demonstrated competency in staffing the Executive Branch, using it as a machine to carry out your agenda, is a core attribute of being President.

Donald Trump was SUPERB at running for President, twice. And a pleasant byproduct was setting forces in motion among the People which can someday mature into a viable party/project to govern the country.

But Donald Trump was a FAILURE at staffing the Executive Branch, from Day 1. He did not support Michael Flynn. He did not hire Kris Kobach. He did not fire Robert Mueller. He did not punish his enemies. As a result, they tied him up in knots, and more or less successfully prevented MAGA from actually happening.

Now to be fair, he expected Republicans to have his back, and at least not to cooperate with Pelosi, Schumer, Mueller and the rest to prevent him from success. I see he is still flogging the GOP dead horse, trying to bring it back to life.

But, to quote one of my best teachers, "Mister, that is not an excuse. It is a reason for failure".

I need to hear more from him accepting responsibility for this failure and explaining how it will be different. I don't expect to get it.
