Dr Brad Stanfield notes that metabolism goes into steep decline after about age 60. Simultaneously age related disease go straight up in the other direction.
He therefor surmises that supplements that improve metabolism have the best chance of improving defensive mechanisms against age related diseases.
His top five list consists of 1. NR nicotinamide riboside 2. Melatonin 3. Glutathione precurer L cysteine OR NAC 4. Glutathione precurser L serine (which converts to glycine) 5. Hyerleronic Acid.
He mentions that L carnitine may have a role in treating non alcholic fatty liver disease. (If you have a big gut--then likely you have a fatty liver.)
He also mentions sulpheraphane psyllium husk fisetin, metfomin, creatine.
He doesn't include vitamin c vitamin d, zinc, omega 3 because he believes he can get enough from diet.
As a knock on, he says that when these supplements are used in concert they significantly downgrade covid symptoms.
NMN certainly, not sure why he comes out for NR instead.
During the pandemic I took daily doses of Scotch, bourbon, brandy, gin, vodka, wine, and beer.
And I’m still here.
Bkmk
Yeah. Beer and cigars are my supplement. We might get run over by a truck. So enjoy life. While it lasts.
Lemme guess, he’s got stock in those.
I sleep just fine and don’t want that ____ on my face.
If you really want to know what supplements to take, you need to do a series of tests.
I bet almost all are harmful.
Remember...Alcohol kills brain cells, but only the weak ones. I’m getting smarter every day!
L-Argentine also.

Well, that explains your screen name. 😏
Do not take to excess. For me, this combination usually has good effect even if taken only when possible exposure is risked or after the first hint of symptoms, assuming that one regularly takes a good quality multivitamin and mineral supplement.
You mean, L-Arginine?
Western diets are deficient for the most part.
D3
K2
Zinc
Magnesium
CoQ10
C
B complex (sub-lingual, or liquid, holds in mouth for three minutes)
Multivitamin
Cod liver oil
L-argenine
NAC (is a precursor to glutathione)
Melatonin 3mg one hour before sleep (10mg if under stress)
Those are on my daily intake (I’ve forgotten a few, but if interested PM Me and I’ll give the others)
Added recently is HIGH C + L-lisine 3x/day as a 120 day arterial cholesterol flush.
Gym days include other amino acids
As a reference only...
59, male
No Rx meds, no chronic conditions, resting HR 53, BP 110/74 this morning.
3-4 gym days and 1-2 3mi runs/week
Sleep regularly 7.5-8.5 hours each night.
Melatonin is magic
Best wishes

In the modern world, I don’t know how anyone can possibly get enough vitamin D-3 naturally unless perhaps your job is one where you work outdoors. Even with that, if you’re in the norther latitudes, there is just not enough hours of sunlight in winter months.
Laughing..yeah that too
Thank you for catching that
Best taken in Ecuador doses each day, but that’s up to Peru.
::snicker::
Study after Study have shown no difference between people who take vitamins and supplements and those who Don't
