Well Rush as been gone one year today
me too.
I was sad to learn that newspapers and TV news had been lying to me - I loved reading the newspaper every morning and checking TV news. Rush proved it by exposing the “three million homeless” hoax. Ignorance was bliss but I’d rather know the truth - thanks, Rush!
We knew it was coming but tough to hear just the same.
Have not been able to stomach any of the 12-3 shows that have popped up since. He was priceless.
Clay and Buck doing a good job honoring him today. Great interview with Kathryn.
Miss him so much!
Rush was really one unique person.
I remember the first day he came on the radio and said he wouldn’t have interviews. I looked right at the radio and said “how are you going to do that, Buddy?”
Well, it sure didn’t take long to realize he didn’t need to do interviews -— Rush being Rush was all he needed.
A very unique and interesting AND smart person. Miss him so much!
Sadly,he didn't reach Boston airwaves until a couple of years later.
Rush was Middle America...an intelligent, articulate and decent man who understood just how wonderful this country was.
great pic
Levin is angry all the time. Rush was funny. Nobody today. Mark Davis perhaps but he’s more happy than funny and he won’t go national. I don’t think it would be too hard for the existing ones to go funny a bit. The late Lee Rodgers(SF) was really funny and really angry at the same time.
Seems like 3-5 years!
So do I. Terribly. I can’t count the number of times in the last year I’ve thought “wonder what Rush is going to say about this...oh shit”. A year ago today I was anxiously awaiting his show to start, hoping he’d be back. As soon as I heard Katherine’s voice I immediately burst into tears. I knew what she was going to say. Still hurts.
At home today, and it’t errie not having Rush in the background.
Also,Mark Simone (WOR,iHeart Radio) in New York is quite good. He's on from 10AM to Noon (Eastern).
I took a long break. I started listening to Chris Plante, and now a daily listener. I listen to Bongino when I’m at the gym. And Levin
I got teary-eyed when I heard it was one year today. He was a giant.
I still have my Rush 24/7 membership, so I will often, at least for the last year, go back and listen to last year’s show on this date.
His thoughts and comments are as relevant today as they were when he made them.
The ending [ית-] of the first word "bereshith" can form abstract nouns and diminuatives. At this link it also lists its use in describing ..
vehicles.
In the beginning:
בראשית
with or in a little Rush,
in a Rush-vehicle
It's the simple meaning, as the world-famous "harmless, lovable little fuzzball" was the vehicle for getting the message out about the worthless, sunshine-stealing, Can't-Do Establishment.
The voice of hope and freedom. That's the word straight from the "top" (head, beginning) [ראש].
Rush's passing on Ash Wednesday really rubbed in the messaging. The next day, Perseverance (with a little Ingenuity in his belly) landed on Mars after a 203-day journey. 203 is the sum of the first 3 letters of the Torah [ברא] which are repeated as the second word, "created." [ברא]
Yet some people think that the God of Abraham is asleep at the switch, or something.
Rush, who was 70, lives on.
Dare mighty things.
I listen to Clay and Buck, but it isn't the same...
Started listening to him when he was just a local Sacramento market. could not believe what I was hearing. Nobody talked about women’s lib like he did. Nobody talked about liberal policies like he did. Nobody talked about race issues like he did
He was fearless and he was correct.
Some guys can’t be replaced.
He was certainly one of them.
