The 78-year-old comedian finally addressed claims that he was very difficult to work with on the sets of “Saturday Night Live” and the TV series “Community.”
In an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Chase explained how it didn’t bother him when he heard that his former co-stars had bad experiences working with him.
“I guess you’d have to ask them. I don’t give a crap!” he laughed. “I am who I am. And I like where — who I am. I don’t care,” he continued. “And it’s part of me that I don’t care. And I’ve thought about that a lot. And I don’t know what to tell you, man. I just don’t care.”

Your right. After your post I looked it up to confirm. The first Heisman winner once said he played against Ford.
I didn’t know he was still alive
I saw a clip of Norm on The View and I laughed so hard! He was in the middle of that menopausal hornet’s nest throwing out what he thought of Clinton or Obama and didn’t give a single damn!!! He had his mouth a little open with a smile on his face, just taking the shrieks and hatred they were throwing at him and changed the subject so smoothly that they forgot why they were mad at him!!!
He was the best!!!
I always liked Chevy Chase.
Haha!
Chevy Chase is without grace, for sure. But then, if I had the bank account he does, I’d probably be just as arrogant.
Norm liked Saget, and a producer had told him to really put it to him in the roast. That producer had to be sweating bullets during Norm’s speech.
Yes, Belushi, Murphy, Ackroyd, Chris fatso were all the same types of people.
Murray has been a regular at the ATT Pro Am in the Monterey area for decades now, and stories people tell of running into him is bars and restaurants in the area abound. Maybe it’s all just a show for the rubes, but he’s a beloved character around here.
His birth name was Cornelius Crane Chase. His grandmother gave him that nickname, Chevy, based upon the medieval English ballad “The Ballad of Chevy Chase”. 🙂
He was in a lot of bad movies. A lot of people didn’t like him.
If you are serious, he was one of the original regulars cast members of SNL (Saturday Night Live) when they were actually funny. 🙂
**Well he didn’t look anything like President Ford when he mocked him.**
Back in the day, I occasionally watched the original snl bunch, and couldn’t figure out how that guy made the cut. He wasn’t very funny. Monotone voice, one dimensional.
Ford was an athlete. Even with the age difference Ford likely would have knocked chevvee on his butt when doing full pads across the line from each other.
Days before being selected as Agnew’s replacement, then congessman Ford was speaking at a GOP fundraiser in Kewanee, IL. The locals also provided Ford’s transportation back to DC, with my dad the pilot (the bird, a noisy Piper Aztec). Dad said Ford was just swell the whole way, friendly, could listen as good as talk, and was not the slightest bit impressed with himself.
I like any man that makes me laugh. Includes Bill Clinton.
Steve Martin was The Jerk.
I loved him in Fletch and Christmas Vacation and the original vacation movies! I disagree with those who think its just the writing. His physical comedy is excellent - reminds me of Dick Van Dyke....
Chevy Chase doesn't care.
Ford was a real good football player. But not a Heisman. Was that even around then? I think he might have been an all American.
Jay Berwanger from that football powerhouse, the University of Chicago.
I know that… my comment was meant more for today.
