The 78-year-old comedian finally addressed claims that he was very difficult to work with on the sets of “Saturday Night Live” and the TV series “Community.”
In an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Chase explained how it didn’t bother him when he heard that his former co-stars had bad experiences working with him.
“I guess you’d have to ask them. I don’t give a crap!” he laughed. “I am who I am. And I like where — who I am. I don’t care,” he continued. “And it’s part of me that I don’t care. And I’ve thought about that a lot. And I don’t know what to tell you, man. I just don’t care.”

Celebrity Net Worth says he’s worth $50M. That’s FU money.
He’s 78?! God I’m gettin old!
Great post.
“I’m Chevy Chase and you’re not.” I can live with that.
I agree, with the sole exception of his Clarke Griswold rants.
Bill Murray is far funnier, IMO
If you are 78, in okay health, with $50M in the bank, there isn’t much you need to give-a-cr@p about.
I WAS BOOOOORN TO RUB YOU
At 78, you should be past the age where you care what others think.
I loved Norm. He has a sense of humor I can relate to. I read a story where he was working with an opening act who only had 5 minutes worth of material. Norm went over his material with them and then told the person, he’d go out first. Norm did his set and in the last 5 minutes, did the other guys material right before he came out!! Mean? Yes but I find that funny.
I remember watching Norm do his roast of Bob Saget and how badly his performance and jokes were until I realized he was doing it on purpose. Saget said later he was in tears with Norm purposely bombing. Saget had helped Norm get started in comedy.
True. He would have said nothing. Smoked a cigarette instead. And/or drink a glass of whiskey.
He never did. Egotistical jerk. Major league a-hole. Not professional at all.
I believe Chevy hurt his back while imitating Ford falling. LOL
I was in college when SNL started.
Saturday night parties would dead stop when SNL came on, TVs would be turned on and all of us were big fans, gathered around the TV.
You couldn’t pay me to watch it now.
True. I hadn’t seen his Ford sketches since they aired, so
I checked youtube. Boy, did they stink.
Yeah Chevy Chase and Bill Murray are both jerks and no one likes working with jerks.
That’s interesting because the first Heisman award was in 1935 and Ford’s last season at UofM was 1934.
That shows how good he was!
I thought Fletch was okay and the 1st vacay was humourous but the Vegas vacay was my favorite. Other than that...
He did and became addicted to pain killers. Just like Jerry Lewis did.
Im 78 also and dont care anymore dont like me who cares.
