Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has broken his silence over the claims against him and the organization in a lawsuit filed by former coach Brian Flores.
In the suit, centered on alleged discriminatory hiring practices in the NFL, Flores also says he was offered a bonus of $100,000 per game by Ross to tank games during his tenure as coach. Flores coached the Dolphins for three seasons and went 24-25 before being fired after a 9-8 campaign in 2022.
Ross personally pushed back against Flores’ claims in a statement released late Wednesday after the Dolphins had already said they “vehemently deny any allegations of racial discrimination.”
“With regards to the allegations being made by Brian Flores, I am a man of honor and integrity and cannot let them stand without responding,” Ross said. “I take great personal exception to these malicious attacks, and the truth must be known. His allegations are false, malicious and defamatory.

Denver sure put the hammer on him too.
Lost seven games in a row. I don’t think even the Tennessee Vols would keep a coach after that.
If this owner and the NFL discriminated against this guy - how did he become a head coach in the first place?
“Charges are ‘false, malicious and defamatory’”
That’s the idea, dumbo.
But I think Flores is playing for a settlement. And I bet he'll get one a big one. The NFL will definitely want to avoid discovery (especially after the Jon Gruden stuff that came out as people were reviewing the Redskins e-mail archive). Money, on the other hand, is nothing to them.
Hilarious. NFL has been smooching BLM behind and this is the thanks they get. I hope both parties lose the case.
Yeah Flores was “only” making $3m a year, so a fat lawsuit payoff will make that look like pocket money.
The race baiters want a black NFL team owner but, unsurprisingly, don’t want to pay market rate for a team.
I am personally hoping Brian Flores has proof. Ross has been a destructive element to any possible success the Dolphins might achieve.
I hope these allegations destroy Ross, plus I have no love of the NFL. So, if true, this corruption exposure would be fun to watch. I have a little love for the Dolphins because they had their perfect season right after I moved to Florida. And real football was played back then (Walter Payton, Mean Joe Greene, Dick Butkus, Larry Csonka,
etc.).
Csonka...one of my college buddies tutored Larry at Stow HS near Akron. Helped get him into Syracuse.

Listening to the TV, Flores is a very special coach.
I looked it up, he has a losing record as a Head Coach.
You are what your record says you are.
He’ll get a big payoff from the NFL and then go coach a big name NCAA program. Just a guess.
Cool. If I remember correctly he practice by running into a closed barn door. He was a bit nuts.
He’s not good enough so you blame the racists, real and imagined. Now another coach(black-Hue Jackson)is backing him up. What would be wrong with saying Brian Flores will not get hired because he’s too toxic?
“I looked it up, he has a losing record as a Head Coach.”
The first season was losing (typical for a lot of first time head coaches). Next two season were winning. 10-7, 9-8.
We went on to be middling drones at General Motors and Larry went to the Super Bowl.
All Flores has to do is prove it, right?
If he got $100k per loss, show when, where and how.
But let’s just say for argument sake, Flores is telling the truth. How many loses? How much did he get paid? Did he report the earnings to the IRS?
It might suck if you took the money, spent the money and now have to admit to tax evasion.
.
His winning percentage is .490
Below 500 - losing
Never been in a playoff game.
But, he says he has a great Gift.
