Denver sure put the hammer on him too.
Lost seven games in a row. I don’t think even the Tennessee Vols would keep a coach after that.
If this owner and the NFL discriminated against this guy - how did he become a head coach in the first place?
“Charges are ‘false, malicious and defamatory’”
That’s the idea, dumbo.
But I think Flores is playing for a settlement. And I bet he'll get one a big one. The NFL will definitely want to avoid discovery (especially after the Jon Gruden stuff that came out as people were reviewing the Redskins e-mail archive). Money, on the other hand, is nothing to them.
Hilarious. NFL has been smooching BLM behind and this is the thanks they get. I hope both parties lose the case.
All Flores has to do is prove it, right?
If he got $100k per loss, show when, where and how.
But let’s just say for argument sake, Flores is telling the truth. How many loses? How much did he get paid? Did he report the earnings to the IRS?
It might suck if you took the money, spent the money and now have to admit to tax evasion.
Several NFL coaches lose games for free.
All the talking heads spewing their woke comments.
I have heard them say, “what kind of evidence is there and when will we get to see it”?
I wonder what will happen if/when it comes out as yet another Jessie Smollett hoax?
Not one single talking head has mentioned that scenario.
I’m with you! Grab the popcorn 🍿 🍿 🍿 and wait!
should have just ignored him. they are hoping for a visceral reaction so the whole thing grows legs. Ignore him and he will go away.
Flores was a terrible coach. And he was fired by a black GM that didn’t get fired. Nothing says revisit owner like those actions.
Let’s revisit Flores’ issues:
1) season one he alienated two players. Minkah Fitzpatrick, then a second year player, demanded a trade and refused to play for Flores in the preseason. He is an all pro now. Kenny Stills was making noise in the media about social justice, something about JayZ, I think . So Flores mocked him at the start of a training camp practice by playing a JayZ song. Stills got traded shortly thereafter.
2) season 2, he completely mishandled the QB situation. He undermined the still injured rookie and the veteran. He made the decision to start Tua days after saying he wouldn’t play him because he wasn’t healthy. The veteran learned about it on Twitter. The D played great against weaklings and got eaten alive by good QBs
3) season 3, he spent the entire season undermining the QB because he wanted to trade EVERYTHING for a sexual predator who quit on his team 12 months after signing a massive contract. He played soft defense when it mattered. Then when they were out of contention, he went back to their strengths and dominated crappy teams. Then, in a win and in game he went soft D against the titans again. Furthermore, you could squarely pin 3 losses on his decision making: jaguars, raiders and colts. He beat one decent team: the ravens. The papers in SFL say he stopped talking to half of his assistants after the trade deadline when he didn’t get his way
4) supposedly he was demanding control over personnel as soon as the season ended. This is against a GM who openly says he chooses players that the coach approves. What was the issue? The fins didn’t give up 5 1st and 2nd rounders for a POS predator.
5) he could not keep qualified assistants on staff. Most left after a year. By the last off-season, he had a reputation, because no outsider wanted the OC job. He hired nobodies across the entire coaching roster. It was not an NFL stuff. There were guys who came directly from HS!
6) the last coach, Gase, was fired because he didn’t want to go through a full rebuild. They said that in the press conference. When Flores was hired he got an unprecedented 5 year contract because it was going to be a tear down and rebuild. The season was nicknamed “tank for Tua” before it even started. I have a tee shirt.
6) the only time he ever coached aggressively was when there was nothing to lose: out of contention in the season, or when a game was out of reach.
I find it hard to believe a NYC billionaire land developer made any documented offers to lose games. All they had to do was trade their talent, like they did. I don’t doubt he may have made a joke or two. This idea that he told Flores to take a mid-season vacation so they could lose more could only be a joke. No one has ever done it. No one would. It’s called sarcasm.
I really hope Ross sues him for defamation and does it with a ruthless vengeance. The entire suit reads like it was written waiting for a coach to come on board. It also reads like Flores’ sour grapes wrapped in social justice.
When Flores was fired, they had to publicly give a reason because they knew it would receive criticism. They said he was difficult to work with and a poor communicator. Boy this suit sure proves them wrong! 😀
He should file a counter lawsuit for defamation and make him fight that 🤪
Hopefully, Ross will file countersuit.
I’m much more interested in what comes of the allegation that he was offered $100,000 for each loss…
It had been reported that Flores has the tweets. But… everyone knows that context doesn’t matter in court.
Good. The former coach is a racist scammer. I guarantee he only got the job because of his skin color in the first place.
