To cruise or not to cruise? That is the question. The Centers for Disease Control’s Conditional Sailing Orders for cruise ships expired over the weekend. That means cruise lines can voluntarily follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines, but they don’t have to. us.
Several major cruise lines have already docked ships until the end of January with the surge of the omicron variant. According to a CDC official, over the past two weeks, coronavirus cases on cruise ships increased 300-fold.
WRAL Investigates producer Randall Kerr and his family were on a Norwegian cruise ship when the CDC’s recommendation came down
"
"People that had check-in times that they were still waiting for their test results, they were allowed to board the ship before the results came in," he said.
On board, one of his biggest concerns was the use of tenders, or water taxis, to get to land. Despite stickers on seats promoting social distancing, the staff packed the boats making people sit shoulder to shoulder and even waiting 15 to 20 minutes on board until each tender was completely full.
Once the cruise ended, the crowded sardine-can feeling repeated itself in the customs area.
When WRAL Investigates asked for data on COVID-19 cases to compare to the general population, Norwegian declined.
Within days of returning from the cruise, which included a 12-hour car ride home, three of the five Kerr family members tested positive for Covid. A fourth person tested positive a week later. The family was fully vaccinated, other than two younger children who recently became eligible for the booster. All of the infected members had mild, cold-like symptoms. For what it’s worth, the only family member who wasn’t infected is also the only person who was vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine.

Interesting how they run all these cruise stories when that big gay cruise is getting ready to take place.
Oh the establishment media sure loves these anti-cruise hit pieces.

I expect they Lamestream Media to gang up on the cruise lines, now that the cruise lines are trying to make a go of it in 2022 and are shooting themselves in the foot with cancellations and more postponements. - Tom
“All of the infected members had mild, cold-like symptoms.”
It would benefit many here that are concerned.
A cruise line or someone should track and see if anyone dies weeks after leaving the ship. If that number is 0 — TELL US.
SELL US.
The only Cruiser I know is over vaccinated and dim witted.
I’m “vaccinated.” I got the single J and J. My wife and children won’t get it, a decision I fully support and advocate.
My wife and I used to cruise often. However, we will not cruise again while there is a vaccination requirement. I have vowed to never take advantage of my “vaccinated” status while people who chose not to get it are discriminated against.
If we all can’t sit together, then we all stand.
How many times I must explain, no vaccine ever invented can PREVENT infection. If virus material is floating near you, you will inhale it and get infected. The viruses act fast and start replicating as soon as they land in the body. The body does not get a text message from virus that it has landed. Only after the virus has consumed some body tissue for replication, the body becomes aware of the virus and begins a counter-attack. That is when the vaccine comes into play via additional anti-bodies stocked up. And that should result in no symptoms or mild symptoms.
I was vaccinated by one of the best vaccine the world has ever seen, which eventually eradicated the disease from entire world. Couple of years later I inhaled a large load of virus and came down with smallpox. I credit the vaccine for my survival from a disease with 30%+ mortality.
May be someday someone will invent a vaccine which will construct a virus proof filter in the nose. If that happens (unlikely) then the vaccine could prevent infection.
Keep slurping for this vax. It’s proven it’s dangers. Your pathetic.
“Coincidentally”, I know of a couple in their seventies. They went on a cruise, and mom now has norovirus and some flavor of Covidious.
Oh! Did I mention they had all of the jabs?

Good idea, but that is not likely to happen since the CDC, that has thousands of employees, who from the very beginning have not kept good records about the virus, or even authorized autopsies to be performed to establish the cause of death. -Tom

Almost like the whole thing is planned.
I rescheduled our Jan. 21 Celebrity Caribbean cruise aboard the Equinox to Sept. 8. I wasn’t so much worried about the Omigod variant as I was about getting access to one or more of the four islands were were to visit. Already the Caymans were switched out for Bimini so by rescheduling we should be going to the Caymans in September which I prefer.
Think with your brain, not any other part of the body. Nearly 250 Million Americans have chosen to get the covid vaccines. Unless we get 1 million Americans fond dead after getting the jabs, the vaccines are at MINIMUM 99.65% SAFE.
That is safer than checking into a hospital, or driving a car in a large city over a year or more. And please do NOT get the vaccine. We need to donate your quota to poorer countries who want the vaccine but can not afford them.
I did one cruise in September, another in November, next one is at end of January and another in February. The sanitary protocols were exemplary good on both ships. Better by orders of magnitude than any land restaurant, any store on land.
In the buffet for example, no one served them selves. Every thing was behind a shield, I had to point out to the server behind the counter the item, the server placed the item on a new plate and handed you the plate. Only place I touched anything others had touched was the elevator buttons.
I just did one over new years - before the peak of the spike but when it was well on its way. Unless you were in one of the thirty-odd cabins with red stickers on your door, or were really intent on seeing Million Dollar Quartet (which got cancelled), all was relatively normal with the addition of indoor masks. The staff was always ensuring you HAD a mask, but if you had a drink in your hand they didn’t really bother you to put it on over your face. We also spent a lot of time at the outside parts of the ship for that reason.
