Virginia, you have NO IDEA how bad the problems with teaching racial hatred in your schools are.
"A friend of mine" (Verified facts)

I hope Gov Youngkin realizes that the race-based education crisis that permeates Virginia Schools goes so very, very far beyond history classes taught according to Critical Race Theory.

Meet Dr. Kendria Boyd. She works in Fairfax County Public Schools as assistant principal who oversees special education. It's difficult to allege she was hired to eliminate white teachers from Edison High School, because attributing motives is always uncertain. But her (publicly available) doctoral thesis from the University of Pittsburgh was a survey of a handful of non-Black teachers which it found, horror of horrors, that they didn't realize that they were utterly incompetent to instruct black students. And since then, she has unleashed a reign of terror, during which more than a third of all non-Black teachers have resigned, reassigned, or driven to disability leave by stress-induced illnesses, caused by students given free rein to abuse, assault and threaten the lives of their teachers.

How could this be possible?

Students with behavioral problems are diagnosed as requiring "special education." Once given that diagnosis, any failure to control the students' behavior is blamed on teacher incompetence, regardless as to whether the student actually has any medical condition which impairs their ability to control violent or sexual impulses. No additional services are provided to teachers whose students have demonstrated by extreme behavior that they cannot such impulses. Union leaders warn teachers that if they turn to the police for protection, their alleged "incompetence" can be used to fire them.

Clicks of teachers exist to spy on other teachers, to provoke students to create conflict, or to lie about lesson content in order to provide the basis for complaints against teachers. Professional Improvement Plans are used not to assist teachers, but as weapons, punishments to add burdens.

Race-based destruction of civilization permeates the entire Fairfax County Public Schools curriculum. No white authors, men or women, are allowed in the literature curriculum, for instance… unless they are gay. And they must be openly gay, so teaching Oscar Wilde is still largely considered a sign of racial oppression. Shakespeare is replaced by the anti-American graphic novel, "Persepolis." Jane Austen is out, the nakedly anti-Christian, "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah is in. Even showing images of Thomas Edison or George Washington is problematic.

This is not the kind of school which would have seemed to require radical intervention on behalf of black students. Black students make up 25% of the school, which actually has very similar numbers of Hispanic and white students… and about 19% Asian or "other." Black students have been equally likely to pursue advanced courses, and have had a very high graduation rate with a low rate of chronic absence… but this data comes from years before Dr. Boyd arrived.

As the school loses its most difficult-to-replace and most needed teachers, it seems doomed to circle the drain, however. For now, the school uses fear of coronavirus and an imminent violent takeover of the nation by "right-wing fanatics" to displace more reasonable fears such as the effect of terrible education on home values. And since the start of the era of coronavirus, teachers are taught to spot students 50 points on grades, making failure almost impossible. Instead, what students will be getting are diplomas that don't necessarily signify any education.

Virginia's students can't afford employers realizing their diplomas signify nothing. Gov. Youngkin, we hope you understand the enormity of Northern Virginia's race problems.

I lived in Williamsburg Va for a year. I came from Upstate NY. A cop said to get rid of my NY plates ASAP. And that was in 1988.

One silver lining is that this race hatred is out in the open; when a Chinese-American woman is pushed in front of a train in Times Square by a wilding Simba, there is no more mystery in terms of motive. The racial indoctrination has left the living room and is in the classroom.

Now non-oppressed people know who is coming for them and why.

Eventually it will be realized that about 35% of adolescents after reaching puberty cannot be educated in a classroom or be confined to a school. No program whether it be critical race theory, severe discipline, well meaning coddling etc.can get these adolescents to mature faster or learn just about anything. Huge amounts of money have been wasted. Trying to force educate them has been a colossal failure.

What we’re seeing in this country is the inevitable result when blacks, immigrants, and liberal women take power. Today, we celebrate a federal holiday dedicated to a man who did... something. I don’t know, got blacks and whites to get along with each other? How’s that working out?

Consider this, when these newly minted full blown racists with no basic academic skills seek employment, where do they go? Well, they wonder over the Potomac and end up working in the cess pool DC.

This is in California too.

One of my colleagues finally quit special ed after many years - he said what he used to see in the locked-up psychiatric unit he worked in previously was being put into his classroom, while his “regular” kids (also with a myriad of learning and emotional disabilities) were increasingly being mainstreamed.

Said he was tired of the low IQ parents of these students coming down to the school with lawyers and advocates to tell HIM how to do HIS job - they have the law and all the rights on their side. Of course, some of it is racial as well. Parents have a right NOT to medicate their violent, psychotic children at school (colleague says this is so the parent can double dose the kid when he gets home and over the weekend).

This is a from large, strong male and he felt the job had become too dangerous even for him.

That one was my favorite - and I put it into a file for further use.

But, We all know that proper grammar and usage is racist.

Trying to force educate them has been a colossal failure.

One of the main things I saw over my 35-year career as a professional public school teacher was the amount of twisting the "experts" did in order to rationalize, normalize and excuse the "colossal failure" of trying to force-educate those who were either school-averse or not educable past a certain low level, around the 3rd grade for some. The same, failed zillion-dollar programs were implemented again and again - with different names. The education establishment would wait 15 years or so to try, try again - but we older teachers recognized that these programs didn't work the first go-around and wouldn't work the second, third or millionth time around. So much money wasted, so much.

Copyedited your copyedit. Removed awkward phrasing and poor word choice.

All very good choices!

I chose to correct only the most-egregious errors about which there could be no argument. I tend to be more minimalistic.

At some point I wonder if a class action suit can be filed using the reasoning of “hostile work environment,” or violation of civil rights under color of authority. If any group is openly targeted, and it results in violence against members of that group, seems to me that such a suit could be filed against school districts, and personally against the administrators who mandate this teaching, and personally against teachers.
