Sarah Palin wants jurors to be barred from seeing footage of her appearance on “The Masked Singer” in her defamation case against the New York Times that may go to trial in the coming weeks.

I’m guessing it goes to damages - that she actually profited off the notoriety.
Just a general sense of how those costumes look and the remarks of the celebrity board.
She enjoyed the notoriety too much.
Since they don’t allow the criminal history of career criminals to be introduced into their court hearings as evidence, this should be a no-brainer.
Japan is really big into those cartoony costume characters. It's a big industry there.
Possibly but paying for the “antics” of her immediate family plus the divorce probably cost her a pretty penny.
Her time has come and gone. My Alaskan friends don’t think she can beat the “Alaskan “Mad Kow” in a head-to-head contest. (They’re not anti-Palin, supporters who are realistic about the current Alaskan political scene.) That’s what it would take for her star to rise again. Not likely !
My wife and I joke about the sort of people who watch some of the crap shows on TV. Our opinion is that if someone is on a first date with someone, and the someone says "my favorite TV show is The Bachelor/90 Day Fiance/The Masked Singer/Big Brother, etc, the correct response would be "check, please!".
Anytime you want the general public ‘barred’ from seeing something that was on TV, that will probably result in lots of people suddenly wanting to see it.
I tried to forget that she ever went on that show.
Possibly, but that wouldn’t explain the tweets and instagram posts they also wish to include.
They actually would only need financial records to show that her income continued to remain the same or increased. The video of the actual performance has no probative value. Also not sure it’s germane when it’s 5 years later as opposed to the more immediate period 12-24 months after the article appeared.
The Slimes are desperate and hoping for a friendly judge, because they crossed the line between news and defamation and they know it, because they keep losing or settling.
They keep losing readers, advertisers and court cases and eventually they will either return to reality or go bankrupt.
Perhaps she made some "didn't want to show my face" representations or something. Weird that she appeared on that show at all, because I wouldn't have thought she'd anticipate a positive reaction.
Isn’t it amazing how much over-acting Ken Jeong can do in one second?
Doesn’t it? I’ve seen bits of it and it gives me the creeps.
The show began in Japan. It was popularized in America after Ryan Reynolds appeared on it in the Japanese market.
So it was brought here toot-sweet. But the whole thing is demonic, it really is.
The Shintos in Japan don’t have a clear picture of hell or evil so it’s ok there.
Thanks for the info. Never watched it, or any of the other competition crap they show on U.S. channels.
She’s not allowed to have some fun or goof around?
What a sad, sad life some folks must lead.
I didn’t say she wasn’t allowed. I asked why? Specifically, why make a spectacle of yourself to be mocked by the haters? I really don’t care but trying to be a celebrity ain’t my bag. Especially in an industry that hates you and what you stand for.
I had no idea what “The Masked Singer” was until now.
I will have to watch it at least one time, i.e., US version.
