I had a follow-up visit with one of my docs today. He - for second time - argued with me about getting vaxxed.
He said (not exaggerating) that I am "part of the problem," and repeated I should "stop reading the blogs" and get jabbed. He claimed at the NH hospital where he works "the unvaxxed are occupying beds."
So I asked him if "unvaxxed" includes those with co-morbities - or those who received the jab in less than 14 days.
He just said I was "the problem" and "you need to stop reading blogs" but chuckled - and tried to come off nice.
I said "well let's agree to disagree." He said - "yes - 'agree' you should get vaccinated!"
Notice the hubris. I know trained scientists and reputable doctors who disagree with his conclusions -- but look at how he dismisses these trained colleagues as "blogs" - and does not even acknowledge there are differing professional opinions.
I think I rattled him by responding, however, and stood up for myself. Score one, for 4L!
my doc said the magic words “safe and effective”
she could tell by the expression on my face further discussion was futile
Thanks for all you have done doc. this will be the last time you see me.
Maybe you need a new doctor? Perhaps one who respects your right to do your own research and your ability to make your own informed healthcare decisions?
Rather than spouting “just do it” - he should explain to you why places like Singapore, with 95% vax rates, have covid positive rates 3X what they were last year.
Why the British NHS now admits that 75% of covid hospitalizations and deaths are now among the vaccinated?
better Q to the Doc
“How much do you make on the kickback?”
Maybe you need a new doc. My doc knows how many nutritional supplements I’ve been taking every morning for the last 50 years, all the things recommended now to boost your immune system.
He didn’t think I needed a vax.
My doctor (very laid back guy) recently retired. I need to line up a new doc for an annual check-up which is a little over due. I suspect that he will pressure me. And I expect to be initially polite, but if necessary, quite rude. If I never see the guy again, it’s not like I’m throwing away a long and cherished relationship. I don’t trust them any more and I don’t need to take their crap.
Why argue with him? Just say no.
I told my FORMER doctor he should be ashamed and should take another look at his oath. I walked out without paying.
I would have responded with, “Hey doc, you know what they call the person who graduated last in medical school? Doctor...”
If my doc ever did that I would never go to that doc ever again.......................
What problem?
I have asked Drs. that same question. It is like they have been slapped. That is a question that needs to be asked very frequently.
Needless to say, I have never fully trusted them and now I fully distrust them.
I had the same argument with my doctor in September. I had a new doctor in November.
Reply: Thank you for your informed professional opinion. Will you please sign a statement detailing precisely that assurance, and promise to be personally liable for any adverse reactions?
My doc suggested I get vaxxed, but I told him why and won’t, and he just smiled and said, “I had to suggest it.”
We are living in an early police state.
Agree with all comments - I am ditching this guy. Strike 2 - you're out.
Funny how doctors differ. Mine said the vaccine has not been yet proven to be “safe and effective” and he’s not recommending it. Hubby’s heart doctor does not recommend it either!
LOL
