I had that issue way back in High School. 'Social Studies' as they called it in California Public schools, made absolutely no sense to me. I read a lot about the rise of the NAZIs and Hitler. What I see happening in the US now is very similar to those times in Germany. Many people think that the NAZIs were right wing. They were really leftists; and, the acronym NAZI contains "socialist". Then why did they beat the communists down? Because the NAZIs wanted control of the streets. They wanted to control the Nation with their own home-grown power structure.

This is the very same you see today with the Democrats. Their alleged hatred of communism is a matter of "who controls"; but, they are exactly the same in philosophy.

Mass Formation / Crowd Psychosis: Robert Malone MD is an American virologist and immunologist. hypothesizes that this is a form of hypnosis. Seen in Germany pre-WWII in the 1930’s. Starts with a situation where the population is decoupled from each other. Everyone is fragmented and disconnected. Everything is overwhelming and nothing makes sense. This leads to free-floating anxiety as things “just don’t make sense”. When COVID-19 arrived, suddenly everyone became “”experts”” on the virus. Everyone is totally obsessed with one small thing. Outside thinkers—dissenters—must be attacked and destroyed. They are seen as a common enemy. Leaders step in to seize this moment. The crowd completely believes these new leaders. One can show them data that contradicts their statements but people refuse to believe it. No matter what data you provide them they cannot see it. It seems like the world has gone mad. All dissenting views are censored. This is where global totalitarianism arises.
