Basketball when Lebron James is playing.
wrestling
The fights are the most difficult. The last time I was watching
them, a hockey game broke out.
Football is the only game you can watch your entire life and still not know the rules.
I hope to see technology hold sway over the bullshiite that comes from having biased referees affect outcomes.
We could put pressure sensors in the gloves of boxers so we can see for ourselves whether the punch connected.
In MMA fights we could just put in a medicine ball that counts how long it is on each side of the cage that each fighter is defending. So that when there’s a close match, everyone knows who is winning, right up to the very last second of the match.
Baseball could easily have robot umpires behind the plate calling strikes and balls.
Figure skating — put sensors on the feet and hands of the skaters and the ones who are closest to the previously defined pattern are the winners. Same with gymnasts and divers.
Basketball — there are so many fouls that are not called because it would slow down the game a lot. What we have ended up with is the referees won’t call the fouls on the big stars but will call them on the lower tier players. I think this is horse manure.
Basketball. The block/charge call continues to befuddle and aggravate.
“Upon ending his dribble or gaining control of the ball, a player may not touch the floor consecutively with the same foot (hop).”
Except if the hop with both feet, called a jump stop move.... NBA of course is hard, there are enough rules to make favoritism the rule.
Mutton busting
Women’ Volleyball. It’s difficult to see the ball.
That’s funny right there.
Yeah, but who enforces traveling anymore?
Basketball because the rules have been changed over the years so much, it’s unrecognizable from 30 years ago.
Imagine Bird or Maravich being able to palm the ball and not be hand checked.
The big four sports in the U.S. are all tough to officiate. As long as we have humans in that position, the outcomes many times will hinge on some ref or umpire’s unfair, biased, or just a blown call. Some sports they can call a penalty on just about every play. The reasons might range from just being a poor official, or not liking a particular player or team, but occasionally it is for more nefarious reasons. Makes it tough on the betting man.
Pro wrasslin’
Fouls on every play. Prosecutorial discretion mandatory.
Hockey hockey hockey. Way too fast for the average human to make accurate decisions, plus having to dodge vulcanized rubber pucks, errant sticks, occasional skate blades, and ruts in the ice that can lead to nasty falls.
Yep, it is common to take at least 3 steps.
The best sports are complicated. I’ll go with the best - rugby.
I second this.
Hockey, and I don’t think it’s even close. Easily the most difficult, physically demanding, and dangerous sport to referee.
