Over the last year we have had long-awaited adaptions of classic science fiction and fantasy stories finally reach our screens, from Dune to Foundation to Wheel of Time. And the good times are set to continue with a tidal wave of big sci-fi and fantasy stories set to hit our screens in 2022.
This handpicked list of upcoming highlights doesn’t include a few big adaptations that we touched on in last year’s list but are still yet to reach our screens. So check our 2020 rundown for a look at titles including The Lord of the Rings, Sandman, Halo and The Last of Us.

As the years passed, James Cameron’s plans for one sequel expanded into four more films, which would be shot back to back.
We now know Cameron has already shot most of episodes two and three, with Avatar 2 rumored to explore ocean worlds of the planet Pandora. Love it or hate it you will be seeing a lot more of the Avatar world over the next few years, and James Cameron is such an obsessive innovator these films will at the very least be technologically impressive.

You want diversity is our strength? You got it!
You want strong powerful women? You got it!
Throw in a little lesbian love? You got it!
You want men who can't stop praising the women on how wise and powerful they are? You got it!
Wheel of Time produces some eye rolling guffaws. It has the women who channel the powerful spiritual white power. These women fear men who channel the powerful spiritual black power. (This my friend is a metaphor for penis envy and castration.) When these men are captured, they must be "gentled." The black power is removed from them. And once that happens, the man wants to die!
I smile when Bobby calls Amos “cupcake.”
Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time look like SJW crap.

Don’t know about LOTR, but Wheel slams homosexuality in your face. Also, I get real annoyed at two of the characters constantly going around with their mouths open (mouth breathers).
I’ll try it.
Have you tried “Primer”? Very good. $7000 budget.

From June 2021,
Basically, every Amazon Studio production has to have a specific percentage of minority, LGBTQ, gender-nonconforming, body-positive (i.e. fat), disabled, and blah, blah, blah number of different roles.
Keep this in mind watching their flagship suckfest known as "Wheel of Time" that every actor on the show was a result of Amazon "inclusionary" bean-counting.
When I'm looking for something to watch I always look through the Science Fiction section. However, most of them deteriorate into "monster movies".
Only in that one scene as far as i know.
I’m looking forward to the Babylon V reboot.
WoT sucks so bad halfway through the first episode I was rooting for the Trollocs to eat everyone.

Which is why The Expanse is good - because they bought the property already developed and there was no room to insert woke SJW crap.
Another necessary character type in Wheel is the ugly woman in red who is powerful and enjoys killing men
At the time we called it “Dances with Smurfs”. Very contrived plot line.
Currently watching "Invasion" on AppleTV. It's slow but compelling enough that I always click to the next episode. I also enjoyed the first three episodes of the dystopian drama "Station Eleven" also on HBOMax. Need to get caught up.
Well how many times would anyone want to see "Pocahontas" or "Fern Gulley"?
Same script, different characters.
I want to see a remake of “When Worlds Collide”.
Will the crew of the Ark be all white like the original?
Bezos can be the old man who funds the project.
Woke crap with a "diverse" cast, especially the gender flipping of the main character.
“Would love to some Heinlein books made into movies or series.”
Neither would Friday.

One character is the big brute of the four - he always mouth breaths, in the last episode the red headed guy joined him in mouth breathing. There are many other scenes with lesbian sex and the male guy that hangs with the woman in blue is gay or bi (perhaps).
All the women on WoT are ugly. Even the normally ravishing Rosamund Pike looks old and frumpy.
Another forum I visited lamented the lack of nudity in comparison to Game of Thrones. I replied, "There's nobody on that show I want to see naked!"
I’m looking forward to the Babylon V reboot.

Doctor Who is supposed to reboot soon ; the BBC ruined it and then sold it to Terry Nation, I believe.
Check out The Expanse. I’ve devoured the books and the Amazon show follows the books to a tee. The authors of the books worked on the screenplays with the series writers, and they have an amazing series. The final season (6) is upcoming. It’s worth your time to watch if you love sci-fi and appreciate when writers work with actual physicists to get details like orbital mechanics precise.

Concur. “The Expanse” provides a realistic projection of near-future space travel. The characters are well developed, interesting, and the plot has some good twists.
