..... And I'll never know whether or not it's COVID, because I refuse to get tested.
Started getting chills and body aches after attending a Christmas party. Not crazy shivers and fever like the flu, but more mild. Rested all day today, took Tylenol, and feeling much better. Will rest again tomorrow and see if I develop stuffed nose and cough.
The point is, prior to COVID, if a bunch of people who know each other, or work together, were getting sick, they'd say "I think there's something going around". And then they'd get over it and get back on with their lives.
That's exactly what I intend to do, even if the whole world around me has gone completely nuts.
Anyone here use the Povidone Iodine nasal swab and/or throat gargle treatment? I bought the Povidone Iodine but getting the measurements correct is what is keeping me from doing this.
ok. i’ll bite, how do you know it’s *not*?
yes. part of the protocol i found it works very well to help relieve sinus symptoms and headache. i use it several times a day from one squirt bottle. also gargle with it. i just warm it and cut it with water to preference. the protocol also indicates it cuts virus shedding which is good too.
BKMRK.
Is yours the 4% or 2% variety and how much iodine per water? When you swab with the iodine do you need to rinse it out afterwards? I’ve read iodine is not good for sensitive nasal membranes or even if accidentally swallowed while gargling.
So sorry.....that sounds so miserable. The entire story.
Hubs and I have both had COVID, but omicron is apparently infecting people who have had prior versions right along with those who have taken shots. We were with our son when he fell ill on Friday. He was tested at his hospital Saturday and sent home from work to a 7-10 day quarantine. Hubs is achy today, and I feel like I may have a cold coming on. I don't think we'll do home tests, since they aren't terribly reliable with omicron. We'll do what we did with alpha and beta versions - rest, vitamin D, zinc, quercitin, vitamin C, melatonin. We have horse paste, but don't expect to use it. This version feels a lot milder to me than beta variant. I don't know whether that's because of my natural immunity, because it's an attenuated variant, or because it hasn't really hit yet.
Our son has been sick for 3 days now, despite taking the Pfizer shots to satisfy his employer mandate. He was clammy/cold, coughing, tired and nauseous for a day. The second and third days he said he was much better but still felt crummy. He was miserable but it was nothing alarming. My impression of omicron is that it will hit fast now due to holiday travel and gatherings, but that most of us won't be horribly sick from it.
Where are these tubes $5-$10? I’m seeing them around $19 on Amazon for Duramectin and a 3 pack of the Ivermectin by Durvet for $99 and another seller selling it at $129. $5-$10 per tube is before Covid 19 caused the price gouging right?
The prices held steady until the fedzilla decided to start interdicting and seizing shipments of the stuff.
Now there’s some scarcity happening and that’s impacting prices.
Depends which model. If it is an Apple Watch 6 or 7 it does. Those are the two most recent. The earlier or SE versions don’t as far as I know.
What was once a normal part of seasonal life, has been turned into something to obsess about and analyze to death. It’s so insidious.
No way is it just a coincidence that the virus that they want us to obsess about happens to mimic the common cold and flu. It’s a way to keep us living in fear indefinitely.
I was seeing prices in the $8-10 range this fall at Tractor Supply. I haven't checked recently, but supplies seemed to be fine in a couple of different areas. If there are 'horsey' areas near you, check there.
Monoclonal antibodies work. But they won’t give them to you if your blood oxygen drops. The cutoff used to be 94%. You should get tested. If you test positive don’t screw around waiting to see if you get sicker, you may miss the window of opportunity.
I had what I assume was beta variant last winter. The first couple of days I had some nasty headaches and dizziness. Fortunately, it was mild overall, and I never developed the coughing or oxygenation problems. The burning nose and loss of sense of smell were weird and worrisome, but also resolved.
Alpha strain hit my area very hard in March/April 2020. I had been riding the New York City subways every day, prior to lockdown, passing right by the famed Elmhurst hospital, where the body bags were piling up.
I went to the last Brooklyn Nets home game before the shutdown, where several players contracted COVID. My son was with me that night, and we rode the subways together all the time. He got hit with COVID right away and so did my ex wife.
I’ve been fine this whole time. Ain’t no way some weak strain of this crap, nearly 2 years later, is gonna do me in.
“Finding out whether or not I have COVID is meaningless to me.”
Until you actually get covid and you cannot breathe and cannot walk up or down your steps and at best you can only literally crawl to car to take you to a hospital then it is too late.
I had Covid and am on day 14th. Trust me you want to know if you have it or not before it is too late for preliminary treatment.
Anti vaxxer/covid downplayer/refused to be tested Doug Kuzma (FROG newscorp) was put on a ventilator yesterday and is soon going to be room temp if not already.
ok here goes.
mine says 10% solution with 1% available iodine.
my wife get’s credit for this formula which works great for me although the color of it makes you hesitate to put it up your nose, i’ll admit.
she used 1 teaspoon of 1 part salt to 3 parts baking soda to make saline for one cup of water. those nasal saline packets could be used too.
she used two teaspoons of the povidone per one teaspoon of the saline in the cup of water (distilled or pure drinking of course. i wouldn’t use plain tap).
she says she did a calculation. she’s a genius (not kidding) and i trust her, so i tried it. it worked. that’s all i can say.
Someone one remove from me died around December 1st. A friend of friend. Supposedly fit, 60, no known comorbidities. Probably Delta. You just can’t be sure how you will react. My mother caught Covid last spring, probably Alpha. She was hospitalized for maybe 2 days. She turned 98 this month and will probably outlive us all.
You at least ought to see if you’re positive. Get yourself an oximeter, they’re cheap.
So true. It has caused disagreement in our family as well.
Find out if monoclonal antibodies are available in your area. They work, but you have to ask for them before your blood oxygen drops or you are out of luck.
