Anyone watching this classic now on ABC?
I’m watching. It’s my all time favorite movie, but tied with Gone With the Wind.
I have it on now.
Here is some music from the film:
The Sound of Music Orchestral Medley - Climb Ev’ry Mountain - eng. subtitles

I seen it/parts of it so many times, its one of those things if I never see it again, I’m ok.
But in fairness, I am not a fan of musicals to begin with, so...its not anything specific to this one.
I didn’t know that. Oh well, the movie is wonderful. Captain Von Trapp was a U-Boat captain in his younger days.
I cannot stomach network television with commercials.
That said…
We were watching it for a while, seen it so many times over the years.
One of the first musicals I ever played in the orchestra for, and one of the best.
One or two songs kind of dragged, but all of them are great. What a wonderful operatic voice she had.
Damn you!

I’ve not seen it. Never really had the opportunity and like you was never a fan of musicals. I guess I’d watch it if it was on w/o commercials and I knew about it ahead of time. Or somebody offered to bring/loan the DVD.
Have the video and watching White Christmas now. Julie Andrews was one of the greatest voices ever.
I confess that it is my favorite movie.
I’m such a romantic sap.
Ask my wife.
I have loved that movie since I was a little girl. And yes, I watched it tonight.
Is that the musical with “Doe-A-Deer” in it?
My oldest sister was learning piano when that came out.
This was one of the songs she had to practice to
make her fingers more confident in finding the right keys.
Another song popular back maybe two years before that was “Dominique” by the
Singing Nun from France.
But they loved her....They really loved her. s/
Those are my two all-time favorites as well.
They also didn’t have a nun who ditched her vocation to become their nanny.
LOL, I crack up every time I see that! What genius, it’s hilarious!
A little farther back....Howdy Doody...Mickey Mouse
And support white supremacy? Maybe if they remake it with Puerto Ricans or Zulus.
