Admittedly, it takes quite a bit to raise my blood pressure, but this is one of those real-world issues that does it. There are a lot of really good people in upstate New York and outside the boundaries of that crazy city they are best known for. The New York state assembly passing a bill [A416 LINK HERE] to set up involuntary COVID quarantine camps needs to be stopped right now. This is nuts.
The bill is obtuse in the extreme, and grants the state permission to remove and detain someone defined as “a significant threat to public health.” Those of you who have watched the creation of Quarantine Camps in Australia, and those who noted the ongoing activity in Australia seems designed to be a beta test for the USA, will quickly see the common thread with this proposal in New York.

SNIP
Good grief, is there anything more anti-freedom than arbitrary power given to a governor and state bureaucracy that will enable the state to force people into detention camps.
The bill also says the government can, “require an individual who has been exposed to or infected by a contagious disease to complete an appropriate, prescribed course of treatment, preventive medication or vaccination.” That seems like this bill gives the state the right to detain anyone they want and forcibly vaccinate them.

Diversion given that there are other historical examples.

Close to 120,000 were “relocated” — isn't that a pleasant way of saying it? — under government order. To label things conspiracy theories consistently, when ignoring historical conspiracies, is worthy of employment in and allegiance to the Democrat Party.
Welcome to Dachau on the Hudson.
Armjab macht frei.
It is a bill that was introduced into committee by a NYS Assemblyman who is an immigrant from Jamaica and who is (apparently) an open Communist.
See my post #48 to this thread.
The Bill was introduced (at the committee level) in January 2021, almost a year ago. It has gone nowhere since. It has no sponsors in the Assembly, or anywhere else.
Consider the many headlines in the pandemic event” not to mention climate change activism and more, all of which is characterized by modal verbs.
The next “wave” of the pandemic could, would, may, might, and so on. The temperature in a century could be....
Let's all be careful for our “couldas, wouldas, ifas, etc.”
Meanwhile, still nothing in the enemedia about a possible outbreak of TB at Goldman Sachs in NYC....

The bill is real but the idea that many thousands will be sent to concentration camps for covid is a conspiracy theory.
The idea of concentration camps is a conspiracy theory that comes around every few years.
Someone’s gonna get shot. Someone needs to get shot.
Yellow syringes sewn to their lapels.
This should prove to everyone that just below the surface of every Democrat there exist a true blooded Communist.
Thank you for that bit of good news.
The bad news is that the mindset reflected by that Bill is shared by so many in our government.
Sure seems a lot of conspiracy stuff is on target these days.
If this is in a bill with an unspecified virus/disease, it is far more dangerous than one thinks. That they would even think like this is appalling let alone attempt to draft it into law.
Attempting to actually draft it into law takes it out of the realm of conspiracy and smacks right up the side the head of reality.
On January 5th, 2022, the New York Senate and Assembly will vote on a bill that would, if passed into law, grant permissions to remove and detain cases, contacts, carriers, or anyone suspected of presenting a “significant threat to public health” and remove them from public life on an indefinite basis.
Let's be clear: this bill is antithetical to life, liberty, and property. And while I don't doubt that many people's imagination can get carried away in these matters, the reason why imaginations run wild is because "it can't happen here" tends to happen here more often than we like. Can you say Tuskegee? Japanese Internment Camps? Ventura County's 2020 lockdown of public housing?
And, to be fair, TNP's co-founder Raheem Kassam (formerly of Breitbart) probably has better connections than all of us combined. Maybe someone tipped him off.
But I'd appreciate SOME help...maybe "a source inside the Senate" or "I've been told by a friend of a friend of a friend that maybe..." or anything.
We live in unusual times. But the first casualty still seems to be the truth. I've come to regard American Thinker and Gateway Pundt as co-title holders of the the least-accurate/trustworthy "conservative" sources of news, with Washington Examiner polling right behind them. I guess TNP is now in this race, too.
So they’ll finally create quarantine camps top for HIV rather than waste valuable resources so the poofters can go on with their anal escapades and think they won’t be contagious?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
The only way to prevent a reality of concentration camps is to sniff out attempts by the left to open that can of worms, and expose them as such.
As others here have pointed out, the history of concentration camps is not a conspiracy theory. There was a time, a few years ago, when such a contention would have someone labeled a "denier." (Strangely, this language has been appropriated by the climate change crowd... you don't hear it with respect to the Holocaust anymore... I wonder why...)
The idea of concentration camps was probably considered a conspiracy theory in Australia, until it happened.

That’s a conspiracy theory?
Doesn’t exist?
You sure about that?
It was probably introduced as a stunt to get its author — a NYC-area nutcase assemblyman named Noah Nicholas Perry — noticed by the incoming Biden administration. Perry has been nominated to be ambassador to Jamaica (the country, not the neighborhood of NYC), which is where he came from.
This story is more of an "elections have consequences" story than it is an alarm bell of imminent danger to our liberty.
This guy is no more dangerous than A-O-C, or Rashida Tlaib, or Ilhan Omar, or any other member of The Squad, or most currently serving Democrats for that matter.
