“Colt and John Moses Browning. Greatest Duo of all time.”

Hard to argue that.

A rational country would have a statue of JMB in every town square.

American Precision Museum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Precision_Museum

The American Precision Museum really took off when they introduced guns with interchangeable parts. Because the parts were machine milled and interchangeable, it changed the face of gun making. People were amazed that you could do it, when it was first introduced, but quickly saw the advantages of it.

I own a Colt, but it’s not my “chosen” firearm.

LWRC is.

The video is full of crap. Colt didn’t invent the revolver, there are surviving revolver rifles dating back to at least 1600.

They also claim Colt invented the “assembly line.” Which also is bull. Venice Italy’s “arsenal” shipyard built ships by assembly line using standardized and interchangeable parts in the 15th Century.

That was only 12 minutes into the video and I didn’t waste MORE time watching the rest.

In talking about the invention of the Colt revolver, I’m surprised they didn’t mention the development of the percussion cap that made the development of the modern firearm possible.

I have/had a Colt and a Browning. The Colt is nearly 100 years old and is a pleasure to shoot. It is very accurate. It was manufactured in 1925 and sold in Chicago in 1926. It has two distinct perfectly parallel notches scratched on the slide. Coincidence, carelessness, probably. Something more nefarious, it was purchased in Chicago in the 1920's. Who knows, but makes for a good story.

The Browning it was built in Belgium in the late Sixties and is nearly old enough to collect Social Security. Sadly it cannot because it still works. In fact I went out hunting with it on Friday. During the period when Bear and Deer season overlap, I prefer my Browning.

Sadly both weapons were lost in a boating accident off the Crystal Coast today.😪🙄
