Has anybody confronted you lately about not wearing a mask?

For my job, I come in contact with many people from states where masking is maybe not "mandatory" but heavily and socially encouraged.

The people ask me if they have to wear a mask, and I say no, this is Texas, and I would say the vast majority basically say, thank God.

I went into a lot of stores in Lincoln city yesterday. The entrance doors are plastered with wear your face petri dish signs. You could tell which ones were owned by the proprietor, they weren’t masked.

People in most stores in Portland are heavily masked. I think that is because Portland sucks and they know Portland sucks.

Says so on the side of official city vehicles. Portland the City That Sucks.

Emphasizing that I am not medically trained, as a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Also, noting that you can find people in Florida and Texas with vitamin D deficiency, if you live above latitude 37°N, the southern border of Kansas for example, vitamin D3 deficiency is probably a health concern between wintery months of October to February in my non-medical opinion. Consult a professional doctor that you trust.

Finally, I question if medical history would have turned out better if vitamin D3 had been discovered before vaccines were.

Corrections, insights welcome.

NE Maryland here—still always wearing my mask to grocery shop or go to medical appts, etc.

Immediately take off my mask upon entering my house.

Rather continue wearing my face diaper instead of subjecting myself to even a first jab of any vaccine!

Was in Irvine recently - Asian-American mask wearing was close to 100% - everybody else less than 20%.

Here in Arizona college students wear masks at about an 80% rate - everybody else around 5%. Fauci's brainwashing has taken hold among the young.

In Sedona a while back, a typical, heavily-masked elderly female California ex-hippie type told me I was standing too close to her in a restaurant line. I realized she was probably right - who knows what I might have ended up catching? :)

No, but I live in Texas.

The masked are definitely the minority.

Even when we briefly had a mandate (July 2020 to March 2021), I didn’t wear a mask anywhere. Nobody ever said anything to me. The worst I ever got were a couple of angry looks from Karens.

Keep the thread; need to be able to see what areas of the country have common sense, and what areas don’t.

That worker just committed assault and battery by grabbing you.

Don’t have any issues in AZ. The restaurants I have gone to and stores as well as Uber say it’s optional.

Only time I wore a mask June 2020 to January 2021 was

1) if the shops posted, and only then to avoid being told I was trespassing if I didn’t hear them tell me to leave.

2) at work because otherwise they’d get mebon not wearing PPE.

Both times I rigged it so there was a 1/2” gap between it and my face so I could breathe.

I never got sick.

Once the shops posted “vaxxed can unmask” I stopped.

So true. Here is the letter I sent to our local Redmond OR school district after the governor issued her mandate.

From: Retain Mike Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2021 3:26 PM To: keri.lopez@redmondschools.org Subject: Mask Mandate

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) proclaimed its latest policy about masks and our governor mandated wearing by children as school began.

However, the best science the CDC could provide was uncontrolled studies highlighting first such groups as 139 hairdresser clients, 382 sailors on the U.S.S. Roosevelt, 124 Beijing households, and 839 Thailand residents subject to contact tracing. All results came from observation followed by personal judgement, and none result from the mathematical disciplines used to rigorously evaluate complex environments. In the same article the CDC disparaged the 2020 randomized controlled trial (RCT) in Denmark involving 4,862 participants, which found no benefit to wearing masks to prevent infection.

The disciplines of a RCT divides participants into different groups on a randomized basis. Random assignment means that factors not specifically controlled can cancel each other out by appearing equally in both groups. One group receives the treatment (which in this case was the mask) and the other group does not. Researchers can isolate the one variable and are not able to introduce biases to produce a preferred outcome.

RCT’s are considered the highest standard for this type of research. Therefore, the most reasonable approach for the CDC would have been to consider this study as a benchmark against which others would be evaluated, including studies from other countries which found masks ineffective and even harmful.

The above represents an especially valid approach, since the first four combined citations from their May scientific brief had less than half the participants of the Danish study. The proposed approach is especially valid also because the CDC dismissed the study for involving only .001 of Denmark’s population. At the same time polls predicting the decisions of 150,000,000 voters in a national election were determined by less than1,500 participants or less than .00001.

Just had a coworker tell me some critical Karen berated her for not wearing a mask. Even here in the Peoples Republic of Minnesota masks are not required in most places

"There was no executive order for a mask mandate" in NYC. Holcunt's office admits it was a suggestion from an un-elected Doctor in NY.

Took family out for Japanese dinner in Winston Salem NC. We didn’t have masks (because they are stupid). The hostess took our names and told us unmasked must wait outside.

Immediately past the hostess was the bar where 5 peple were seated unmasked, one unmasked standing at the actual bar.

I asked why they were allowed unmasked and she said, “because they are having drinks.” I told her that we also wanted to go into bar and have drinks. What difference was five steps into the bar versus 5 steps to the exit door?

Of course the young lady was masked as was her assistant BUT...their NOSES were not under the mask.

As my voice was getting louder and angrier, the Japanese owner stepped up and asked if he could help us. “Yes,” I said, “You can seat us per our reservations or I will stand here raising hell until every person in this place either puts on a mask PROPERLY.

He said, “Mam, we are ready to seat you,” as he apologized for the laws of the United State Government and how important it was to follow them.

My reply was the United States government is bound by the US Constitution and neither me nor my family would follow an illegal law that had no enforcement authority or was disparately enforced.

We got VERY good service despite my little “show” but I hate I had to show my ass (to my family’s horror) to get past the millenial door nazi with her nose sticking out.

We are surrounded by idiots and I refuse to submit to their stupidity.

In one of the reddest counties of the reddest states. The kids were wearing masks on Halloween. Does that count?

I assume we mean Biden Bibs. I don’t know where mine is at. Tossed it in a drawer months and months ago.

Here locally, the only place you really need to wear a Biden Bib is in a Dr. office. I’ll abide so long as they provide because there are immunocompromised folks there. Our brothers keeper and all. Dentists aren’t bothering.

There are signs in stores, but they’re always a suggestion. They’re almost universally ignored. I’d say maybe 5% of the public overall are wearing their Biden Bibs. Some store/ restaurant employees are required by their employer to wear the bibs, but even those are getting fewer and farther between. Biden Bibs are not required in schools, public buildings, or anywhere else other than maybe buses. I don’t ride so I don’t if anyone complies.

I work in NYC and the only place I'll wear a mask is on the Metro North commuter rail. This is because they will stop the train at the next station and call the police if you refuse to put one on. I just don't need that kind of hassle when I'm trying to make a living. But I always bring a drink on board so I can at least pull it down frequently and get some fresh air.

I don't get a hassle anywhere else in NYC. I'll walk through Grand Central, go into coffee shops and whatnot without a mask and even though I'm about the only one without one, nobody has said anything.

I don’t give employees a hard time either. But as I’m being escorted out for not owning ... much less wearing ... a mask I usually ask (politely, of course): “Aren’t you tired of bullying people around? You look like too nice a person to be thought of by many as a bully.”

Not since some stupid nurse ran behind me in the hospital last year, while yelling, “I’m going to call security!”

I ignored her. I found a doctor that hasn’t said a word about those worthless things.

I’ve heard Ace Hardware is a little insane about masks.
