An assist to aging🤔
The inventor of the treadmill died at the age of 54
The inventor of gymnastics died at the age of 57
The world bodybuilding champion died at the age of 41
The best soccer player in the world, Maradona, died at the age of 60
And then..
Kentucky Fried Chicken inventor died at 94
Inventor of Nutella brand died at the age of 88
Cigarette maker Winston died at the age of 102
Hennessy inventor died at 98
The inventor of opium died at the age of 116 in an earthquake
How did doctors come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life?
The rabbit is always jumping, but it lives for only 2 years.
The turtle that doesn't exercise at all, lives 400 years.
So … Have a drink ...🤗
Take a nap ...
Huge fan of naps!
Well, it convinced him when he heard it. :-)
Exercise makes me feel better but I’m not an athlete so it’s never overdone. Getting my heartrate up some clears the brain fog, helps my mood, helps me sleep, and lowers my BP and cholesterol. I’m probably in the middle ground zone.
I believe drinking alcohol makes you smarter. They say it kills brain cells. It makes sense that the poorest cells are killed first. That leaves only the smart cells behind leaving you smarter with every drink.
Good to know. 😆
Very interesting stats.
Might be the reason you’ll commonly see little old men and little old ladies. Not too common to hear about big old men and big old ladies.
Jim Fixx, 52, inventor of the jogging craze, dropped dead in NYC of a heart attack, in 1984.
Gramps said to cut him some slack since he’s never been this old and hadn’t experienced it before.
“NORM!”
Big old people fall harder than little old people. Except for the really frail tinder sticks.
Anybody remember Euell Gibbons? He was popular for a time in the 1970s, an advocate for living a natural life style, eating natural foods, etc. He died at the age of 64.
Churchill’s hobbies were painting and bricklaying.
I remember Johnny Carson using him for great joke material 🙂
He must have eaten the non-edible parts of a pine tree
England was his passion. I doubt anyone alive at the time was more passionate about England than The Last Edwardian.
Churchill did love painting, he spent his later years painting landscapes.
Bricklaying when done as a hobby isn’t labor but the release of stress through producing something productive.
When you are Winston Churchill you bloody well get to decide what your hobbies are!
BTW, Churchill had a terrible lisp as a child. He would spend hours in front of a mirror reciting books and poetry. He watched every movement of lips and tongue until he had rid himself of the lisp.
His war time doctor could tell when Churchill was especially tired because the lisp would creep back in.
Reminds me of the SNL skit with Garrett Morris as Idi Amin holding up a piece of Swiss cheese to signify how only the unimportant parts of his brain had been destroyed.
Maybe I’ll try a little opium. Anyone know of a good opium den?
Actually, when in Singapore, I ventured out very early one morning, in time to see old men coming out of basement opium dens looking very happy indeed.
Not sure whether Singapore has opium dens anymore, but your local big city probably does. For a price.
I’m 85. My doc says I’ll live to be 100.
5’2 118 lb woman who has taken a dozen nutritional supplements every morning for 50 years cuz I read the right books back then.
I love the gym, lift weights and did a mile on the treadmill, every morning until idiot idiot guv closed the gyms for covid. Slowly struggling to get back in shape. Muscular strength is best indicator of living long life.
I also sleep 8 - 10 hours every night. Always have.
I probably should have mentioned a rather big effect.
You gotta choose your parents well. 40% is likely genetic.
