A Christmas Story House, now restored to its movie splendor, is open year round to the public for tours and overnight stays. Directly across the street from the House is A Christmas Story Museum, which features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos. Among the props and costumes are the toys from the Higbee’s window, Randy’s snowsuit, the chalkboard from Miss Shields’ classroom and the family car. After reliving A Christmas Story at Ralphie’s house don’t forget to visit the museum gift shop for your own Major Award Leg Lamp and other great movie memorabilia. You can even shop through our online gift shop here. Proceeds from the gift shop and overnight stays help support and maintain A Christmas Story House & Museum.

“Are you kidding?! It’s a major award! I won it!”
Ohio City is just west of Downtown Across the Cuyahoga river. It is North & slightly west of Tremont. It was the original area of gentrification. Its where the Westside Market St. Ignatius High School & Great Lakes Brewery are located. Now a very high end area with way overpriced housing & apartments.
I’m an old married guy with kids so Ii don’t really go anywhere. I live in Kamm’s Corners area of Westpark a neighborhood in the city that is at the western edge of the city proper. Even though I’m barely in the city when we go to an Indians or Browns game we simply get dropped off & picked up by a relative or friend in the area instead of driving there. It is a 10 minute drive. Saves on parking or train fare.
True story - I forget which year, but I think 1968 or 1969...
An “M-16” was the toy all the boys on our block wanted for Christmas. It was a pretty faithful reproduction (kid size) and had a cocking slide lever on the right side that you could pull back and forth 5 or 6 times, if I remember. Pull the trigger, and you had “automatic” fire for a good long while. We played army for months after that Christmas.
Try THAT today... Libtards would go loony.
OH - forgot - no projectiles, just sound. Not a BB gun...
loony-er.................................
I stand corrected... :-)
It is on tv dozens of times in December.
And I don’t watch it dozens of times in December.
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
