An IGA has apologised for displaying a sign telling staff to ring a bell for assistance if an African customer entered the store.

Fury at the Sunshine West supermarket, west of Melbourne, grew after images circulated online showing a racist message taped to the liquor cashier’s desk.

Racism is a learned behavior. The question blacks need to answer is: What is it about us that makes people treat us differently and what can WE do to change that? Blacks expect whites to change while they do nothing to change themselves. It's a two-way effort and we need to see more coming from the black side of that effort.

Our business had a black intern from The Bahamas. I made a point to ask him to accompany me when shopping at Sears. He always got swamped by sales personnel; whereas, I had a great deal of trouble trying to find ANYONE to help me.
