This advice from the U.S. government during the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak is "more holistic than everything we have been fed for the past 2 years"

A lot can change in 100 years, and not always for the better.

The Spanish Flu killed at least 25 million people worldwide – many of them young and healthy. Compare this document from the U.S. government a century ago to what God-of-Science Fauci and the White House is saying today:

Imagine if the government had told people this with Covid. UV light vaporizes the 'Rona, so closing parks while locking people in their homes (especially for an aerosolized virus) was about the dumbest thing governments could have done. Who knows how many vulnerable people were infected because of that backwards thinking?

This was not an error made because of stupidity.

It was not done by mistake.

When will the world realize this was intentional?

Decades before the covid hit, I’ve been of the opinion that as far as :balanced thought” goes, we hit the peak around that time. Before radio. Passive media is a net social detriment, destined to be taken over by those who would control.

Not to say that radio or passive media are the only things going on. Similar time frame as league of nations, all the “shrinking world” mumbo-jumbo, Federal Reserve, Woodrow Wilson, acceptance of the modern liberal as not out of line for a free people.

Can never go back, of course, and no doubt all sorts of problems then, as ever.

Also, there are pictures of people wearing clothes masks.

Yup. And they didn't work then, either.

Thank you for referencing that article Pollard. Please note that the following critique is not directed at you.

One reason that the Navy's 1918 dated letter concerning how to avoid influenza doesn't suggest including vitamin D in diet is this. Researchers didn't have their first conclusive evidence that their newly discovered substance was not vitamin A until 1922, the D corresponding to the fourth such substance discovered at that time.

Vitamin D History

Also, consider that vaccines, discovered more than 100 years before vitamins were, were doing a satisfactory job, so no hurry with D. /sarc

But unlike vaccines, what is disturbing about vitamin D research in the context of CV19 is the remaining "uncertainty" about efficacy of D3 for health purposes more than 100 years after its discovery, even with computers speeding up research efforts.

I am inclined to agree that Big Pharma is following the dollars with respect to active patents for remedies, efficacy not the primary concern imo.

As a side note, I'm sure that patriots have heard allegations of Big Oil buying patents for inventions that are claimed to double gas mileage for example.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the ultimate dream of some marketing departments is to force customers to buy their company's product through the "slight of hand" of getting the corrupt government to buy volume quantities of product with taxpayer dollars.

Corrections, insights welcome.

The government response to Covid -19 has been one of over reaction and counterproductive measures. It's not that they don't know better, it's just that covid was politicized and covid rapidly amassed it's very own constituency that is more powerful and influential than you are

“chilling is to be avoided”

That will strike fear into millennial minds.

“Hey, wot you guys doin’?”
“Just chillin’”
“Aaaarrrggghhhh” (running away with COVID fear)

"recent prevalence in Spain"

Nope, that was a 1918 government lie. It was called "Spanish Flu" because the Spanish press was not censored like the press in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and France which refused to run stories about the severity of the flu among the WW I troops for fear of disclosing weaknesses to the enemy. Spain, being neutral, had a press that did more influenza reporting than all other countries and thusly became known as "Spanish Fu." The incidence of Spanish Flu in Spain was actually comparatively low. This is clearly a subterfuge by the Navy.

At least the circular recommends reasonable aspirin doses of 5 grains (324 mg) and specifically recommends against high doses. Physicians of the day were unaware that the regimens of 8.0–31.2 g per day caused hyperventilation and pulmonary edema in 33% and 3% of recipients, respectively. Aspirin was a new drug and it was sometimes administered in huge doses. Some believe that Aspirin Contributed to Mortalities of 1918-1919 Spanish Influenza, and More, March 20, 2020

But wait, there is nothing there about masks. They’ve been telling us everyone wore masks during the Spanish Flu.

Plenty of pictures of same online.

And plenty of pictures without masks, such as this one from Game 1 of the 1918 World Series, played the same month as the government memo from this article:

The point is that the ubiquity of masks during 1918 has frequently been overstated, as you can tell from the numerous mask-free pictures from 1918. That masks aren't even mentioned in this memo from the second wave of the flu pandemic is further evidence of that masks use and mask mandates were not really that normal.

And plenty of pictures of people without masks during the same time period.

Covering a mouth with a handkerchief is not a mask. And there are probably more pictures of people not wearing masks than pictures of people wearing masks from 1918.

Hi.

The Rona is not a big thing in Florida.

Infections, hospitalizations and deaths are way down from 2020. (Short lock down and masking).

But please, don’t come to Florida if you are a democrat. We have giant mosquitos, alligators as big as your car, poisonous snakes and hurricanes.

Plus, most everyone here is armed to the teeth.

This has been a PSA.

More than 100 years ago, people were much smarter and more capable than today.

I don’t know what this says to you, but I know what it tells me: Darwin was wrong.

Seems as we advanced in some ways, we went backwards in others. Too many ‘experts’ these days and they’ve all become political.

Yeah I got bit by a scorpion on my way to work one day. I had cleaned up the yard and hauled brush with my International Scout II so I guess it got in the truck. Next morning I stopped by a store, standing in line and something bites me on my inner thigh. I grabbed my pant leg and asked where the bathroom was. I’m sure I looked a little odd grabbing right there but said I was getting bit by something. Got to the bathroom holding the scorpion with my pant leg, got my pants off mostly one handed and shook them out and saw the 1 1/2” long bastard scurry away. Kinda freaked me out because all I knew about them was from old westerns where you get bit, you die. I asked around at work when I got there and everyone said they’re not that bad in FL. Probably due to the small size. Got a slight stomach cramp a few hours later that lasted maybe a half hour but that was it. Only one I ever saw there too. I was living North of Orlando in Altamonte Springs at the time.

Great post—strong evidence that Homo Sapiens has gotten much dumber over the past hundred years.

Strong evidence that our public school systems have failed the nation over the past 100 years.

I’ve been stung a few times myself.

Mostly the hands and ankles.

Nasty, but not deadly.

Point well taken. The mask picture I posted was probably Democrat Karens of the day.
