With a deeper perception of blues into the ultraviolet range, deer see not only blue jeans but residue from UV brighteners in laundry detergent that is invisible to humans.
Deer pupils gather more light, and a greater concentration of light-dark photoreceptors gives them better night vision. Eyes positioned on the sides of the head give deer a broader field of view.
Deer have incredible motion detection. They can see a hunter blink from a distance, but if there’s no additional movement they don’t know what it is.

And there you go. Movement of the hunter is MUCH easier to see than a blob of solid color. Just be patient and discerning with your shot..

Meh. Whitetail are pretty dopey. I have to hunt blacktail deer. In coastal rainforest.
Well, Oregon sucks. Move to Montana so you can jump on a whitetail or mulie and strangle them then. Very simple, very easy.

Home Depot had a line of small gardening tools I liked that had black and somewhat bright green handles. They were still very easy to lose when left sitting on the ground in grass / greenery. I ended up putting some orange surveyor’s tape through the hole in the end that was there for a lanyard rope.
As long as you dont mind wind....when it snows here the wind blows it away or the high altitude sun melts it.. Really weird.
But I gotta say the Will-am-it valley is purty pretty. I’d prefer the mountains. never been to Bend. I think Glasaire is there.
I once saw a wildlife film of a bobcat attacking a possum. As the bobcat was making his run, the possum jumped quite high straight up! The bobcat overran the possum’s former position, confused, the possum came down and quickly scampered into a hidey-hole.
This jumping action was likely developed over many 10s of thousands of years of evolution.
Then Man came along. That instinctive jumping action to escape a predator put the possum right in the middle of the grill of an attacking Ford or Chevy!
All of Oregon west of the Cascade summit is pretty country. The East has it’s own appeal, but I prefer green trees.
An annoying commercial running lately must have been sent out of State for voice over. The announcer says “Will-a-met Valley” A girl I went to high school with did local commercials on the radio. and recorded a piece saying “Lewisville Slugger,” so, who knows?
