BRADLEY'S NIGHTMARE Bradley Cooper reveals he ‘got held up at KNIFEPOINT’ in NYC & details the traumatic incident calling it ‘insane’

BRADLEY Cooper revealed he was “held up at knifepoint” in New York City while on his way to pick up his 4-year-old daughter Lea from school.

While detailing the traumatic experience, the 46-year-old actor said he thought he was going to be asked for an autograph or photo, not have a knife shoved at him.

As this week’s guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Bradley shared that he quickly realized he’d gotten “way too comfortable” in NYC when he found himself being help up at knifepoint at a subway station.

Of the late 2019 incident, he said: “I used to walk around New York City all the time with these [headphones] on, this was pre-pandemic, and I was on the subway [at] 11:45 to pick up Lea downtown at Russian school.

“And I got held up at knifepoint. It was pretty insane. I realized I had gotten way, way too comfortable in the city."

Bradley said his “guard was down” as he hung out by the end of the subway platform, which is where he usually wait.

He continued: “I felt somebody coming up. I thought, ‘Oh they want to take a photo or something,’ and as I turned, I’m up against the post like it’s the French Connection or some s**t, and I turned, I looked down and I see a knife.”

In shock from it all, the A Star is Born actor recalled just thinking how the three-inches-long knife looked “nice,” like it had “some history,” before coming to terms with the situation he was in.

Interesting observation. Beatles are the most overrated band in history, IMO. I can’t even take them in doses anymore.

This is great. Lots more of this would be a good start to fixing the problem. The politicos and elites need to feel the heat. It is the only way they will act. When just the little people are victims, it doesn’t sink in to the elites. It has to be first person victimization.

LOL...I was at a party last week and the subject of Yoko Ono came up, and someone said people hated her because she was Asian...I had to retort, it wasn’t that she was Asian, it was the sound of her voice and her concept of “music” that people abhorred...

Never bring fists to a knife fight. Have you ever seen photos of someone who has had their skin slashed open with a sharp knife? It is absolutely sickening.

He gets held up at knifepoint. Lets see... Guy looked like a yute, short knife and Cooper turns and runs????

That was a smart thing to do. How did you handle the last time someone attempted to rob you at knife point?

Advice to actor Bradley Cooper from marksman Col. Jeff Cooper.

On Conditions of situational awareness:

Condition White represents a state of complete unawareness and unpreparedness. In this state you are oblivious to things going on around you and are exceedingly vulnerable to attack.

The next level is yellow. Condition Yellow represents a state of relaxed alert. There is no specific, obvious threat present, but you are aware that danger is always a possibility. You are aware of people around you as well as the environment in general. Condition Yellow is our goal state for everyday life.

Conditions Orange and Red arevfor those who have trained and armed themselves to deal with direct threats...not for actors.

Listening to music on headphones at the end of a subway platform is really not a smart idea. In NYC street parlance in days past such a one was referred to as wheat...the source of bread.

Yes, great movie. I dont know his politics, but seems like he could take some refresher lessons in awareness and personal defense. If he'd have been armed he could have shot the knife wielding man dead. That could have been a trial of the ages. Rittenhouse times 2356...

I wonder if the little East Asian guy who attacked him has been apprehended already.

East Asian, right?

The pre-de Blasio NY was a much safer place than it is today.

Thank you, NYC Criminal Justice "reform" that removed all of the Giuliani-era progress that was made towards cleaning up NYC.

How long before the strip clubs return to Times Square, and chase off the Disney store, M&Ms World, and Foot Locker?

I am very uncomfortable in big cities—my “condition” is that I stay away from them.

Very true. Earlier this month when we went on DST there was a popular meme: "Getting an extra hour in 2021 is like getting a bonus track on a Yoko Ono album".
