“I WAS WRONG ABOUT AHMAUD ARBERY”
(Opinion:Not guilty)

Yea right, they chased him down to murder him.
I really didn’t see this one turning out not guilty.
It seems that self defense was a stretch as they chased and confronted the individual with firearms.
On your own property, in your own house, in your car... stand your ground and defend yourself.
Don’t chase someone down and detain unless you are physically capable of subduing the individual.
If the guy was a murderer and you were chasing him down... maybe it’s justifiable. But not if he’s suspected of burglary.
This verdict was NOT race-based AND it was fair. Just like the Rittenhouse trial was just and the trial was fair.
Good for our juries - good for our legal system... A pox on BLM thugs for trying to intimidate citizens.
“However, this got out of hand and did not meet requirements for self defense”
The CCW instructor drilled us over and over again in our class when we could pull a gun. He said his signature would be on the class diploma and he did not want to feel guilty down the road if one of us shot and killed someone when it was not necessary or if one of us did something stupid.
Everyone should take a ccw class.
They’ll get the Epstien sentence.
He was an innocent jogger. Get over it.
Defense lawyer will say jury intimidated because riots would ensue if found not guilty.
Yawn. Local story.
I agree even for constitutional carry states there should be a requirement for a class on use of force.
Well said mate. Happy Thanksgiving.
Here is another example of how things can go wrong when playing cop.
These guys will also be convicted.
Uh, there were recent robberies in those new developments and this guy was a suspect in those thefts. You are a lying sacajawea, get over it.
Thanks - Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
And now, the “Sore Winner leftist riots” will begin in 5,4,3,2,1.....
Lol.
The guy that taught my last class (a former cop) would have probably used this as an example of what not to do. In fact, he did that with a case here in the Houston area. An old retired man saw a couple of scumbags robbing the house of neighbors who were out of town. He called the police, but got tired of waiting and told the operator he had a gun and was going to do something. He shot and killed the two guys who turned out to be illegals from Colombia. He was eventually either not charged or found not guilty, but the instructor said the old guy probably burned through a lot of his life savings in order to keep from going to jail. Our instructor warned us that if we are going to carry a gun for self defense we need to avoid situations like that of the old man. I'm sure he'll be using the Arbery case as an example in the future.
how come so many counts of felony murder?
seems overly zealous
THis is the one that bothers me. The other two, I could see them guilty or not guilty, depending on whose story you believed.
But this guy, he jumped in a car to follow, and did nothing but film. The victim actually hit his truck, and he did nothing. When they finally stopped, he was backing out, he was nowhere near the shooting.
For him to be guilty, it seems to me, would lead to this:
A BLM rally decides to block the streets. One car is trying to get through, but the protesters surround the car, preventing them from leaving (false imprisonment, according to these charges).
The guy rolls down his window and shouts at them to move out of his way. They refuse, and shout back.
THen one protester walks up and stick a gun in his face. He grabs the gun, the fight, and the driver is shot and killed.
According to this jury/prosecution, EVERY PROTESTER IN THE STREET is now guilty of felony murder, and all should go to jail.
Do you remember a SINGLE CASE this past year where ANY person blocking a road was charged for ANY crime commited against any driver blocked by the protests?
