A grandmother says she was kicked out of a Georgia hotel by police in the middle of the night after she left a bad review online, forcing her and her six year-old granddaughter to walk to an nearby hotel in their pajamas.
Susan Leger, 63, was on the first of her three-night stay at the Baymont Inn & Suites in the mountain town of Helen, Georgia in September when she got a call from the hotel manager telling her she had to leave.
It came shortly after booking site Hotels.com asked her to leave a review post-check-in. Leger did, branding the property 'run down'. She also complained that her room's toilet did not flush properly and that the pool was closed.
Police then showed up to remove her and her 6-year-old grandchild, writing in a report that management wanted her out because she 'had given the hotel a bad review.'

It is amazing to me how many posters on this thread apparently never read the article or watched the YouTube and are trashing the victims. I wish I could say that was shocking, but unfortunately, it is not. They remind me of knee jerk Liberals.

In a decently run establishment, the owners would have tried to see if there was something they could do to fix things. I don’t think most normal people would expect to be kicked out for leaving a bad review. This is obviously a craphole, and they’ll likely take a worse hit from the media attention than if they’d tried to make things right with their customers.
What about the gendarmes? Or is is Stasi?
The problem these days is that too much is within economic reach of the masses.

Yup.
The room was paid for. There is an implied contract there for consideration for the amount tendered. Those things work both ways.
And it turned out they did not refund her until months later.
But for people who were wondering about why she was complaining, I find that a working toilet is generally considered a requirement by most of the civilized world.
Pool closed: eh not a major issue, run down: matter of opinion, nonfunctional toilet: Houston we have a problem.

If some place does a good job they deserve a good rating.
If they do a bad job they deserve a bad one.
The rating system is rigged but that is no reason to lie about someplace.
