A grandmother says she was kicked out of a Georgia hotel by police in the middle of the night after she left a bad review online, forcing her and her six year-old granddaughter to walk to an nearby hotel in their pajamas.

Susan Leger, 63, was on the first of her three-night stay at the Baymont Inn & Suites in the mountain town of Helen, Georgia in September when she got a call from the hotel manager telling her she had to leave.

It came shortly after booking site Hotels.com asked her to leave a review post-check-in. Leger did, branding the property 'run down'. She also complained that her room's toilet did not flush properly and that the pool was closed.  

'My granddaughter's like clinging to my leg and crying so hard. This was scary. This was just horrifying,' Leger told WXIA.

Police then showed up to remove her and her 6-year-old grandchild, writing in a report that management wanted her out because she 'had given the hotel a bad review.'

That said, the excerpts from the 911 call included claims that the "guests" had not yet paid for the room (I don't know if they gave a credit card as security) and that the hotel was going to refund their money.

It is either one, they had not paid for the room (no refund required) or two, they had paid for the room (refund required).

Both is not possible.

The reporter is quoting the police report.

And most likely the reporter reached out to the hotel, with its management having realized how they stepped in it and chosen not to respond.

But perfectly fine to go by the police report of the hotel management saying the bad review was the cause of their action.

Uh, no. Did you see the condition of the room the TV reporter doing this story got at the same hotel? It was a pigsty with trash all over the room, lights that did not work in the bathroom, a non-working deadbolt safety lock, etc. I’d be calling each time I found another thing wrong with the room as well.

She found that the toilet did not work right, for example… same non-working dead bolt, same trash. Would YOU find that acceptable in a room you had paid to stay in for three nights???? A place your grand child would be sleeping in? I would not. I’d be incensed. It WAS a pigsty. We have only the claims of a known liar that she called ten to eleven times in an hour when he FIRST claimed she had not contacted him at all about any problems at the room and told the 911 dispatcher they had not paid for the room to get the police there in the first place. As I said, a known liar. He can’t keep his story straight.
