On Wednesday, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough cited a report that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had to bring peace between the members of his caucus “who are closely aligned with former President Donald Trump” and more moderate GOP members who joined the Democrats in passing the recent infrastructure spending package.
The “extreme” members, to Scarborough’s thinking, are those who opposed Biden’s $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ bill.
Scarborough made these comments on his program “Morning Joe.”
Scarborough said McCarthy “sacrificed his political soul to be Speaker of the House” which in turn meant losing the respect of former President Donald Trump."
The “Morning Joe” host believes that “the most extreme members of the Republican Party” would soon be “dominating” that caucus.
He continued, “Donald Trump is saying more and more every day how little respect he has for Kevin McCarthy because he’s not siding with the really extreme members of that Republican caucus because he’s trying at times to act like a speaker in waiting should act, needs to act, but he can’t do that.”
“And so what we’re seeing is, in the words of my grandma, you don’t want to let that horse out of the barn,” Scarborough insisted. “The horse is starting to get out of the barn, and pretty soon, you’re going to see the most extreme members of the Republican Party inside the House caucus dominating what goes on there.”
The “Morning Joe” segment was in response to an NBC article that claimed that those Republicans who did not vote for Biden’s ‘infrastructure’ bill are “far-right.”
Not only is Joe Scarborough worried but so are some posters who long for the genteel days of the Bush Clan.
Many GOP activists worry about purity first then power. Rats want power first, with power you can impose or ignore purity. In all begins with power. GOP’ers don’t seem to understand that !
I think he means “rational” “normal” people.
Sounds good.
Extreme about what?
Extreme compared to commies?
More of Morning Schmo’s scumbaggery.
Recognizing that the fight against the radical left is a fight for our survival would be a good starting spot for the GOP.
The GOPe is all about bi-partisanship and civility.
The left is about winning. Period. No rules and no holds barred pure fight with teeth and most of our “caucus” is concerned about what MSNBC, CNN, or the NYT say about them.
Good news is congressional interns will be safe again.
Yes, pretty much if you aren’t a Marxist, you are an “extremist.” Just like, if you are not obsessed with race and you don’t go around judging people by their race, that makes you a “racist.”
To the left, a upholding the Constitution in a representative republic is extreme.
One could only hope…
We can hope.
Thought you liked democracy Joe ?
( lying commie ballchinian)
If only...
Don’t you remember all the Dems voting for Trump era bills.
Give it up.
Don’t be Charlie Brown.
Article V.
I certainly hope so.
Hallelujah!
